  • Best car Ive ever owned - 1998 Chrysler Concorde

I hate to say goodbye to this great car, but after 8 years and 115,000 miles its time to trade. The ride is smooth and in the time Ive owned it, Ive had no major repairs. All Ive done is change the oil on schedule, new tires and brakes as needed and tuned it up on schedule. What a great value this car has been. I wish Chrysler had something similar to offer now. I dont care for the retro look of the 300.

Bought used after my 97 Concorde was totalled. This 98 included all the little customer desired comfort features that were not in my 97. When I bought it, there was 55000 miles on it, but it was clean as if it had just come out of the show room. Good ride..good feel. Average overall mileage the first year was 22.3 mpg cruising on an interstate at 70mph it indicated about 30mpg on level road. Regular fuel on a 3.3 engine.

Purchased the car brand new in July of 1998, and have enjoyed it ever since. I have had some mechanical problems, with the most expensive being the failure of the #1 fuel injector. I also had the windshield washer pump fail, and the fan belt tension wheel needed replacing. The headlights yellowed very quickly. I was able to buff them out, but was surprised how bad they got. The rubber trim around the headlights was falling apart within the 2nd year of owning it. The tires that came with the car were the worst I ever owned. Interior problems consisted of the pass thru door on the backseat breaking, and the bench seat console lid broke and would not shut properly.

  • Lucky buy - 1998 Chrysler Concorde

We didnt have much money then. This car worked for us. Has been a great auto. Speed sensor went out twice in first year and dealer (other than selling dealer) was great. Even lent us another car. Other than normal wear items, have had to replace only 2 O2 sensors. Great mileage and power for size of car. Wind noise developed after 4 years and mechanic realigned driver window. Says thats common with these big Chryslers. Noise much lower. I think it was a bargain after 8 years and $22K we paid for it.

  • Beautiful ride - 1998 Chrysler Concorde

This car has been a joy. The interior spaciousness the massive trunk the beautiful exterior the tight handling... This car fit our familys needs to a T. Was it perfect? No. The engine whined a bit when pushed. There were a few minor electrical gremlins over the years. The door-mounted speakers were a bit tinny. We had Chrysler add sound-proofing under warranty. If we had paid $60,000 for this car, I might feel differently, but this car was worth every penny of its $25,000 purchase price, and then some. Cant tell you how many people, over the years, have commented on how beautiful the car is. Well be holding on to it for another two years, or so.

  • I love my car - 1998 Chrysler Concorde

I love my car. Im glad that we had the warranty, a few things did need fixed. We had a problem with the power windows, some kind of clip broke off inside and had to replace the drivers window twice and the front passenger twice (they put a scratched window in thats why they had to do it twice). They also had to replace a pump (not sure what kind) plus a few other mechanical things, we have probably spent $300.00 for mechanical repairs so far, thank goodness. Im not too crazy about the gaskets on the headlights, other than that I love my car.

This car has the most luxurious interior of any other car Ive driven. It has great looks and comfort. Thats about all its got. At 55,000 Ive replaced the rotors, brakes, tie rods, transmission fluid and filter. The check engine light comes on for no reason. The power window motors have been replaced and the speakers work intermittently. Im at the mechanics every other week for some reason or another.

  • Love the Leg Room - 1998 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

I bought this (used) car because of the stats for rear seat leg room (the best I could find). Was concerned about the low front window, but aclimated within days. The main computer went out within 24 hours (@42000 miles), the headlight gaskets creep out of place, but at 147000 miles I have had one other non-major repair and love it almost as much as my Porsche. It feels luxurious, rides like a dream. The gas mileage is surprisingly good. Even a 6- footer will be comfortable in the rear seat. The pass-through to the trunk is also a plus - especially when grocery items roll to the back of the trunk, because this is the only way I can reach them!

  • Great Full-Size Value! - 1998 Chrysler Concorde

The car is a great value for the money. Mildly fun to drive and very well built, Extremely good gas mileage I got 27 MPG on the 3.2L V6. Never had a single problem with it!

  • Troubles after 100,000 miles - 1998 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

This is a great car. We purchased it new and never had any problems outside of normal wear and tear. At 100,000 miles, the car seemed to fall apart. The water pump failed (it needs a redesign), several sensors have failed, including the oil pressure sensor twice, the cam sensor (even the replacement failed after 1000 miles), and now we have a rod bearing problem. We have 121,000 miles on it now and cant give the car away. It was a fantastic car up to 100K.
