  • Loved this car! - 1998 Chrysler Concorde

I have been through several cars, and this by was my favorite!! Unfortunately, a buck deer brought an early end to my car.. The car handled great, was luxurious, and was absolutely beautiful! I will miss her dearly. I am currently looking at a 300M to take her place.

  • RUN AWAY from a 2.7 Liter SludgeMobile - 1999 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

Car was great for the 1st 100000 miles Then at 100k Dreaded SLUDGE problem destroyed the motor I had always maintained the car correctly, with good quality oil but the poor design of the 2.7 liter motor ( small capacity , small oil galleys ) allows sludge to build up and prevent proper engine lubrication. The timing chain broke, and that was all she wrote, valves smashed into pistons, junque! My last Chrysler, as they refused to acknowledge there was a problem with this motor, or offer any warranty support at all . Boo and shame on you Chrysler

  • Excellent car - 1994 Chrysler Concorde

I bought my Concorde used, from a friend that had owned the car for a very long time. It still drives and rides like a dream. The leather seats are comfortable, the ride is smooth. the acceleration is there if I need it, It gets great mileage for a car of its size. I usually average above 20 mpg in town and I have gotten as high as 28 mpg on a long ride. I can still spin the tires off the starting line after 16 years and 240,00 miles plus. My only 2 complaints are the cruise control. It still works -- but it is a little jerky on a down grade. And the paint. the quality of the original paint really is poor. If not for those two issues my car would still near perfect. Cant ask for more

  • Great, up to a point - 1998 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

I got this car a year ago from my grandfather, and it had 183,000 miles on it then. It had been well- maintained, but over the past year its needed a new starter, a new battery, a new timing belt kit, a new water pump, and a new serpentine belt. It also developed a weird problem where, after stopping and starting several times in succession (as in running errands) it wouldnt start for awhile, and no one could ever diagnose what that was. The car now has 198,000 miles on it and Im done sinking money into it - Im getting rid of it! However, this car performed great for a long time and took a lot of abuse well.

  • A real stinker - 1997 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

The Concord smelled like gas from day one. Although there was a recall listed regarding this, the local Chrysler dealership refused to fix it and suggested we pay them $90 for a diagnostic test. Lucky for us, we sold it literally the day before the head gasket blew. Unlucky for the poor buyer, he is in that piece of junk for another $1,500 in repairs. If this car is indicative of other Chrysler products, I would NEVER own one. The entitlement mentality of our local dealership doesnt surprise me either, seeing how the parent company has been a corporate welfare mooch for decades. I would highly recommend this car to my enemies.

  • Disappointed to say the least - 2000 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

I saved for months to buy this car. I loved the room in the back seat and trunk area is HUGE! Loved the streamline look of the car with leather and a sunroof. Then it started. A/C failed, power windows failed, rubber seals around the doors were falling off every time I opened the door, and dont dare take it to a car wash. And if that wasnt bad enough, the 2.7 engine started to "tick". Come to find out that this engine is famous for SLUDGE. It gets trapped in the top of the engine and kills the horsepower and overall performance of the car. Very disappointed in this "American" car. Makes me sad to know I might have to buy a foreign car to get some reliability. Its just sad.

  • Nice car - 1995 Chrysler Concorde

You will never find a car that is more reliable then this one.I have my car for over five winters and it started with no trouble everyday. And I saw all those other new cars sitting on side of the road and hear i come driving pass them live like i was in some type of suv or something. I have a little front end problems but, cant get no car better then this one. And i love the way it handles.

  • Best car in existence? 300k+ car - 2000 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

Bought the car in 2001 with 60,000 miles already on it. He drove it mainly back and forth to work everyday (100 miles) So it racked up miles quickly. In 2006 he gave it to my sister with 260k who promptly ATTEMPTED to destroy it, she knocked out the bottom of the windshield washer fluid reservoir, crashed it into a ditch, backed it up into another car, and fried the A/C jumping it the wrong way. I got it in 09 with 280k. I still runs...and sprints, beautifully. People rap on the engine a lot and admittedly mines broke two, and interior rod snapped but that couldnt stop this car. It doesnt have quite as much acceleration as I would like but it is a massive car. It also gets 31 mpg highway..

  • Smells like gas - 1997 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

We acquired this vehicle through a family member and are working to pass it on to some other unlucky soul. Took it to the dealership to have the gas smell checked out under a recall. They said the recall was not active for our vehicle, but they would gladly do a diagnostic for $90. The ABS and traction control have failed and the thing feels like a category 4 earthquake when it idles. The only good that will come of this vehicle is when we get it sold and buy a Volvo.

  • Best Car Ive Ever Owned! - 1996 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

I bought my 96 Concorde new and have driven it regularly ever since. It has been completely reliable. Ive done regular maintenance, and the few items that have been replaced were due to wear, not failure. I cannot say enough good things about my car. It is now to the point that many components are wearing out, but I dont mind spending the money to replace them. Its been such a good car that I will keep it indefinitely. This is one purchase that has paid off handsomely for me!
