  • My wife loves it - 1996 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

We purchased it new in 96, and have enjoyed it very these past 8 years. We had transmission trouble early on and later at the 6 year mark had outer tie rod problems, both covered by our 7/70 warranty. Recently we replaced the inner tie rod bushings, a kit is available, inexpensive, easy to replace, but does require an alignment. All concorde, LHS, intrepid owners need to know that these bushings will go out earlier than most because of the placement of the steering box up and behind the engine. Heat em out. Left undetected they will go bad and become potentially hazardous. Most of the review problems read have not been seen with our car.

  • After a rough start..... - 1997 Chrysler Concorde

I bought my 97 at wholesale. Good thing because I immediately had to replace the steering rack, ps pump, fuel pump, and rear struts. That was in the first two months of ownership with about 65000 miles on the clock. Since then, 30000 miles later, Ive had no problems. The body integrity is excellent, a real stiff unit, fuel mileage is ok with my easy foot- about 23 city and 29 hiway. The engine is smooth but lacking in torque in lower rpms. Externally this has to be one of most beautiful designs ever. I never approach it without thinking what a beautiful car.

  • One year review, bought used - 2000 Chrysler Concorde

I bought the Concorde exactly 1 yr ago. I was looking for a car for my daughter when I ran into this for $8k, 42K miles at a dealer in mint condition. What a buy! I am comparing this to my wifes Lexus so consider that when looking at my ratings. BTW, my kids prefer riding in the Concorde over the Lexus. If you are looking to buy, CHECK the brakes. Factory rotors are a problem but I knew that and factored it into my purchase price. 4 rotors & shoes cost me $750, be advised. Otherwise, no trouble (15k miles), unlike the other posts. OVER maintain Chryslers, especially the transmission. There is a front differential that gets overlooked. Bang for the buck

The car rides great is very roomy and dependable. The one problem I have is the annoying noise my locks make. They make a loud screeching noise when used.

  • 2002 Black Concorde Limited - 2002 Chrysler Concorde

We just bought this 2002 Limited. WOW! Superior styling and quality inside and out. The cavernous interior is extemely comfortable with fully powered, heated leather seats. The stereo system featuring a 4 changer CD and cassette player has plenty of power and sound seen rarely in a factory system. The exterior is flawless and the panels all fit together with the slightest gaps. The doors, trunk, and hood close with a soild "Thump" with no rattles or clanks. Since we bought this car, I have been asked by several people, "What is that?" I believe most had know idea that Chrysler made such a high quality product. It feels good "Its a Chrysler!"

  • Beauty only skin deep - 1999 Chrysler Concorde

I owned the car for two and a half years bought at 39,000 miles and sold at 74,000. Problems during ownership air conditioning, power window, and transmission speed sensor failures, and the radio was erratic. The main reason for selling the vehicle was my experience with a 1996 Chrysler LHS. It appears that a typical "LH" car can become problematic after 75,000 miles. Based on NHTSA info, I was very concerned that the 2.7 liter V6 might fail prematurely. Also, the steering was making weird noises. I now own a Toyota.

  • Why change? - 2004 Chrysler Concorde

The design of the concord was far a head of other cars . It gave you a sporty look in a sedan .The 2.7 engine gave you 30+miles to the gallon with comfort.

  • Good Design / Bad Construction - 1999 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

If only it was built as well as it was designed! 2 window motors in 3 years. Rear window glass replaced when defogger quit. 4 trunk lid pistons replaced - going bad again. Headlight gaskets wont stay on. Drivers window retainer clip broken - falls off track. Door panels loose - drivers & left rear. Hood trim moulding flew off on highway. Radiator fan motor quit at 48K - $200. Speed sensor bad at 59K $110 - had to be towed in. Fuel gauge sensor bad 60K, A/C intermittent since day 1 - Evaporator core now bad $1200 to repair.

  • Love it except for one thing! - 2000 Chrysler Concorde

I love my Chrysler Concorde LXI! Smooth ride, nice handling, sporty looks! Under warranty, my car has had the radio replaced 2 times for shorting out! The only thing I dont like is that there is no room for a front license plate & I got a ticket today for no front plate!

I bought my car used from a private party and love the way it looks and feels. Unfortunately, it tends to be sitting motionless in my driveway due to frequent breakdowns. Currently, it is at a dealership and in need of a $5000 new engine due to a thrown rod. It has less than 75,000 miles on the engine, so what gives? My 1990 GMC Suburban with 200,000 on the original engine and transmission is much more reliable, although not nearly as attractive. The engine episode is just the latest of a series of problems, large and small. Ill never, EVER own a Chrysler again. Lesson learned. Point me to the Hondas.
