  • Disgusted in Janesville - 2000 Chrysler Concorde

Loved my 2000 Concorde - was a good car until the 2.7 engine blew up!!! Had taken very good care of car with oil changes religiously every 3000 miles and transmission changed every 40,000. Thoroughly disgusted to find that Chrysler knew about the problems with the 2.7 engine and did nothing about it!!! The Concorde was the 5th Dodge/Chrysler we bought. Never again - if Chrysler doesnt care about its customers and its products, I dont need to help keep them in business!! Just bought a 2007 Ford!!!

Excellent. This is the best auto i ever owned for comfort, ride, looks and mileage. This car is in excellent shape for an 8 year plus vehicle.

I wrote a review a few months after buying this car. In four years I have doubled the mileage. It seems then that every 65,000 miles things start to break. After putting 215,000 trouble free miles on a Mazda Protege this does not speak well for the quality of materials on the Chrysler. On a practical stance I bought the car wholesale and the economics of owning this car have still worked out in my favor. But there is no chance in hell that I will ever go into a Chrysler showroom when shopping for a new car.

  • Best Car for the price - 1997 Chrysler Concorde

Owned it since it was new. Mialage is 24 city, 30 highway. have over 185,000 miles and just needed first non-scheduled service (intake manifold gasket.) My normal service is oil change every 3K miles with Mobile-1 10w-30, spark plugs every 30K-40K miles, trans filter/oil every 60,000 miles, and timming belt, accessory belts, water pump and radiator hoses at 120,000 miles. At 150,000 miles had to replace power steering hose and fuel pump. At 185,000 miles fixed the manifold gasket, and installed new struts, and engine cradle bushings.

  • Beware the LX model with the 2.7 liter! - 2001 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

I purchased the car used (with the 2.7 liter engine) as a a roomy rather fuel efficient, full sized family vehicle. The car had 65,000 at the time of purchase. Less than a year later, at 75K, the internal water pump failed and flooded the engine with coolant, and also a loose exhaust valve guide caused the valve to wiggle and not seat seat properly, in turn causing damage to the valve seat. Hence the cylinder wouldnt hold compression. The total cost of repairs was $2,481 !! The 2.7 liter has an awful reputation of premature, catastrophic failures. Research the web!! I did, but it was too late for me! Stay away from the 2.7. Trust me.

  • Don"t buy - 2000 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

I purchased mine used from a dealer after a three year lease was up by another owner. Drove well for the first while. At 74,000 miiles the 2.7 L engine blew, need to repalce or rebuild. After doing much research I found many major problems with this engine. Oil sludge builds up and the parts do not get lubricated. Chyrsler is not accepting responsiblity. Many, many people are stuck with repair bills in the thousands of dollars. I would not buy another.

  • Run from 2.7 engine - 2000 Chrysler Concorde

Great car until 2.7 Liter engine goes without notice, the $6500 repair for vehicle with low mileage. Chrysler will not help with major engine design problem.

  • Excellent Traveling Car - 2003 Chrysler Concorde

This car is a great companion on the open road, especially when carrying other passengers. The back seat is very accomodating, and it is very comfortable everywhere. The sound system is great too, along with the leather seats. Even as a used car, the condition is excellent. The only issue that I find being a problem is fuel economy and some wind noise, but otherwise this car is great on the road. It rides very well, and makes you feel secure behind the wheel.

  • 255,000 miles and counting - 1998 Chrysler Concorde

overall its been the best car ive ever had. ive taken care of the car since the day i bought it and truthfully the car doesnt owe me anything. repair has included a new transmission but only because i was tired of a little leak, radiator, alternator, two tune-ups, brakes which ive done myself, wheel bearings, front end bushings etc...the battery lasted 7 years and 2 months. its been a pleasure to drive and anyone looking at the car would say that its in excellent to mint condition. im hoping to get another 150,000 miles out of it. ive heard nightmarish stories about the concorde, intrepid, and the 300m but then i look at the upkeep and simply say that ive taken care of my car.
