  • looks do not count when it comes to cars - 2000 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

i bought a 2000 chrysler concord lxi about 4 years ago IT LOOKED GREAT and it had alot of luxurious features which got me to buy it it was $3000 and had 118000 miles which is not bad for a 7 year old car or so i thought about two weeks later i walked out of my house to what looked like a murder scene, transmission fluid covered my drive way which which cost me $1600 to fix and since then i had nothing but troubles and heart ace from it the car over heated all the time even though i fixed the thermostat, water pump, radiator and the fans in it and when i took it to the Chrysler dealership they were baffled. wouldnt recommend it to anyone and i learned not to go for looks only performance

  • Smells like gas - 1997 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

We acquired this vehicle through a family member and are working to pass it on to some other unlucky soul. Took it to the dealership to have the gas smell checked out under a recall. They said the recall was not active for our vehicle, but they would gladly do a diagnostic for $90. The ABS and traction control have failed and the thing feels like a category 4 earthquake when it idles. The only good that will come of this vehicle is when we get it sold and buy a Volvo.

  • 2.7 L engine failure - 2003 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

I bought this car 6 years ago and was very pleased with it at first. A very nice ride and handled nicely in bad weather. For the most part, it had been a good car. Then, out of nowhere the check engine light came on and before we could get it in to the shop, the car completely died. Our mechanic told us that it was complete engine failure due to oil sludge. Keep in mind, the car doesnt even have 90,000 miles on it yet and oil was changed regularly. I have since found out by doing some research that Chrysler vehicles with the 2.7 L engine are prone to major engine issues even at relatively low mileage due to defects in engine design. Do some research before buying!

  • Not Too Bad - 1996 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

Recently purchased this 96 Concorde from a friend. His mother went into a nursing home and the car had only had 3722 miles on it. hard to pass up right? first two months of owning the car went pretty well. changed the oil in the third month. (it was pretty much sludge) websites like edmunds and fuel economy.gov say Im supposed to be getting around 21 mpg. WRONG. i have the 3.3 V6 and Im averaging about 12 mpg. Still love the car though. Only complaints are the poorly made cupholders.

  • Awful - 1998 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

We bought our car in 2006. Our biggest problems have been....in order to get to the battery, you have to jack up the car and take the front wheel off You cant possibly change the headlight bulbs yourself the brake lines went the front drivers side seat broke the gas gage broke the headlights have to have the scratches buffed out at least once a year the check engine light never came on untill the day the engine went...no warning oh, and the windsheild design makes you feel sick when you drive it.

  • Chrysler Conconde - 1994 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

This 1994 Chrysler had major problems and recalls when I bought it in 2002. It had (2) recalls clucth and gear shift. also cv axles problems. It look like it was in and accident, but the dealer fail to tell that story.

  • A Must Avoid - 2004 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

The Chrysler Concorde LXi is terrible. Fuel efficiency is about 21 highway and about 15 city, at best. I have taken the vehicle in several times for stalling out on the highway. I will be cruising down I-95 at about 55-60, the car shimeys and shakes then cuts off. A death trap situation. I have already spent thousands trying to remedy the problem. The electrical will dim upon occassion. The dealership I went to said electrical is not covered so beware of extra expenses to have rewiring done in the car. The alignment keeps going out because of a faulty component. Replaced it a few times but it usually breaks within a week or two of replacement.

  • What a Nightmare - 2001 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

I purchased a pre-owned 2001 Chrysler Concorde LXi with a 3.2 L V6 engine. While we have all heard stories about the previous owner being an old lady that babied the car, in this case, I knew the owner and knew that to be the case. The car had been maintained by a local Chrysler dealership with 3,000 mile oil changes and had 42K at the time of my purchase. At around 50,000 the transmission welded itself solid, common problem with this model. Now at 75K it has major engine failure. What a piece of junk. Chrysler should be ashamed. And this is on top of the fact that the trunk supports are weak and the trunk constantly falls on your head when retrieving items from it. My first Chrysler & my last

  • Reason for Lemon Laws - 2001 Chrysler Concorde
    By -

I previously owned a 96 Concorde with 3.3 L engine a great car. We bought this car used, with the 2.7 L engine. The engine selfdestructed at less than 52,000 miles due to the timing chain problem. There are many web sites detailing this problem with this engine. Chrysler denies any help. Changing the headlamp bulb requires removing the front fascia!
