The Cirrus is a fine looking automobile. And that is the last good thing I can say about the car. I have owned this particular car for less than 6 years and it has seen the back of a tow truck about 7 times. A few years ago the starter quit and 2 weeks later the transmission needed replacement. Two weeks after that the front ball joint assembly had to be replaced. Other replacenments were water pump, power steering lines, tie rod ends, exhaust system, electronic spark distribution system, spark plugs, AC components, blower motor control resistor element, timming belt, rear defogger control module, and even the gas tank filler spout. The ABS system packed it in as well.

Best Chrysler I ever owned. Excellent performance and fuel economy. No mechanical issues and easy to maintain. I wish they still built this style!

  • A GREAT CAR! - 2000 Chrysler Cirrus

its a shame that crysler stopped the cirrus, its a fun car, that looks great.Unlike my parents cars, (toyota, and ford) i have had NO big problems with mine. Since 2000, the only thing that has happened is that there is 1 rust spotunder the hood, small, and not noticable unless u open the hood, and the window froze once. THE CIRRUS IS A GREAT,SPORTY CAR, WITH REMARKABLE HANDLING AND ACCELERATION FOR A 4 CYLINDER 155HP VEHICLE. ITS A GREAT CAR FOR ANYONE, AND IT LOOKS,FEELS, AND DRIVES JUST LIKE NEW, 4 YEARS LATER!!!!!! I AM ONE HAPPY OWNER

I bought this vehicle used at 84,000 miles in 2002. Things that went out in less than 2 year time period: power steering pump, alternator, starter (x2), radio stopped working, tape player stopped working, it leaked coolant, (I would have to add it once a month at least. Once at 100,000 miles and again at 120,000 miles, there transmission problems. It barely made it to the dealership to be traded in at 120,000 miles only to find out that it was worth almost nothing because the lit numbers for the odometer reading only lit up 20% of the time. Its a good thing I had tripple a! I used it often!!!!

I bought this car new and beside the usual recalls (on new models), I have not had any major problems. Through the years, it has done great on snow and ice, and wet driving. I think this car is comfortable to drive, but my husband doesnt agree. The car is better suited for an average women or small man. My husband feels crowded in the car and my dad cannot even get in the car. If my car didnt have so many miles on it (I put 40 miles on per day, approx.)I would keep it, but its getting time to think of replacing. I would recommend this car to anyone, as long as you take care of it.

Great vehicle. No problems. Handles like a dream. Rides like a dream. I dont understand the poor overall rating you gave this vehicle.

  • Good ride - 1995 Chrysler Cirrus

1995 was the first year and the car got Motor Trend car of the year . It has a great suspension and rides well. The engine is a 165 HP V6 Mitsubishi the transmission was Chrysler. Except for the radio light which went out on me twice. The car was good for 100,000 miles, with no problems other than normal maintenance, then bad stuff began to happen. Had a rattle in the door as well. At about 140,000 miles the transmission blew, had to replace the catalytic converter, voltage regulator, etc. Glad I did not get the 4 cylinder. The leather was poor quality. Otherwise, I liked the car. Now I have a 2003 Honda Accord Coupe EX with leather. Great car.

I use this car in business and usually drive 1000 miles/week. I service it regularly and keep an eye on fluids. It has been reliable with only a transmission servo and oil pressure sending unit going out. It has the V6 and performs well. One of my trips is 460 miles-- Interstate driving at 80 and still get 29 mpg. Comfortable and simple inside. Im going to try to get 250 or 300K out of it as long as it is reliable.

  • Sweet Car - 1998 Chrysler Cirrus

At first getting a four dour car was not exciting, especially coming from a sporty two-door car(Pontiac Sunfire) But once I got in and realized and the comfort and quality of the ride, my perception changed. The V-6 in great, many people may think it is a slow car, but the 0-60 time is the same as a 00 Mercury Couger. My friends love riding in it with the leather too.
