Comfortable responsive car. Bit noisy, both exhaust noise (probably intentional) and wind noise (really crummy window fit) quite noticeable, along with elevated road noise. Sound system works OK, but sound disappointing. While from a reliability standpoint this is one of Chryslers more trouble free models, even so you will need to budget more money for repairs. Tires make a BIG difference in handling. Eats front brake pads.

Bought it new and have had virtually no problems (just brakes etc) in 100,000 miles. Very roomy and comfortable, no complaints.

Ive got 90,000 miles on it and it still runs great- only problem I dont like is the back end creaks in really cold weather.

  • Best car weve owned! - 1997 Chrysler Cirrus

The Cirrus LXI has been one of the nicest cars weve ever owned. Weve had relatively few problems with it, other than a few quirky issues around 50k. (the cruise control and the keyless entry had to be "reset" by the dealer). As I recall, we also had to have the water pump replaced, which seems to be a common problem.

  • Transmission Problems - 1995 Chrysler Cirrus

I currently own a 1995 Cirrus with 92,000 and have just began to experience a problem leaking around the front seal. Since I owned the car, I had to replace the water pump and know the front seal. Overall this car is very reliable. If anyone is currently shopping for a Cirrus I would recommend the purchase. My experience has been very positive.

  • Enough to make me trust Chrysler . . . - 1996 Chrysler Cirrus

After owning a VW Dasher-fun to drive but mechanical disaster Dodge (Mitsubishi) Colt- reliable, great mileage, but small, poor acceleration, I wanted bigger w/a little style & power. Cirrus served well w/6 cyl providing extra power, comfort, surprisingly roomy interior, + decent mileage (26/30). Few probs but all expensive: computer control module, then A/C compressor, then condensor, major brake job, engine mounts went a early at 90000, but little else for 7 yrs. Extended warranty (both dealer & aftermarket) worthwhile. -Pts for hard to reach battery in driver wheel well +pts for battery lasting 5 yrs in AZ.

  • Not a bad car - 2000 Chrysler Cirrus

This car was bought for my wife. So far, it has proven to be a decent automobile. The handling is pretty good for this type of vehicle and the ride quality is not too harsh. The interior is quite comfortable for long trips. The only complaints I have are the exterior styling and the lack of power. The little 2.5 liter six has to be thrashed to get any real power, and is pretty noisy about making it. All in all a very nice car.

  • Reliable car---(hint)---take care of it! - 1995 Chrysler Cirrus
    By -

Very good car for the dollar! I bought it with 54,500 miles in 2000. About 66,000 miles tie rods went out but I was lucky I wasnt going 70 mph. with regular oil changes I believe it to be a great car. Does have a problem with acceleration....takes too long for shifting gears and red lines too long (i.e. going 50 mph to 75 mph)

Warranty, problem with leaky trans, returned 5 times before it was corrected.

  • 5 Years, No Problems - 1998 Chrysler Cirrus

I was a little nearvous when I bought this car in 98. I had only had Accords and questioned the realibility of American cars. I really liked the aggressive look of the Cirrus front end. Plus, I got a lot more for my money with the Cirrus than I would have with an Accord. At 57000 miles, I have had no problems at all. I am mainly a city driver. The car is louder than some others, but I often have the Infinnity stereo pretty loud so I donlt notice the road noise. My only complaint with my Chrysler experience is the dealer service. Ive been to two dealers and theyre both crooks. Chrysler really needs to reign these guys in if they want keep customers.
