  • Excelent Car but the brakes - 2000 Chrysler Cirrus

Good car overall, lots of power but needs to be improved in areas like braking, front tie-rod ends, transmission leaks and sturdyness. It looks great, the design is still very modern.

  • Nice, but could have been better - 1998 Chrysler Cirrus
    By -

This is a nice car. Built like a tank. Almost as heavy as one, too. Engine is under-powered, though, and is shoe-horned into the car. This makes it hard to work on engine components, which I have done several times. Tranny also hesitates to shift when you floor it. You practically red-line before it goes into the next gear. Avg. fuel economy for a V6. For the amount of driving that I do, I have to fill the 16-gallon tank up about once a week. Body and paint are in great shape, except for some minor dings on the doors from inconsiderate shoppers/neighbors/coworkers and a few tiny rust bubbles on the very tip of the hood from rocks flying up on the highway.

  • My green money pit!!! - 1995 Chrysler Cirrus
    By -

I bought this vehicle used at 84,000 miles in 2002. Things that went out in less than 2 year time period: power steering pump, alternator, starter (x2), radio stopped working, tape player stopped working, it leaked coolant, (I would have to add it once a month at least. Once at 100,000 miles and again at 120,000 miles, there transmission problems. It barely made it to the dealership to be traded in at 120,000 miles only to find out that it was worth almost nothing because the lit numbers for the odometer reading only lit up 20% of the time. Its a good thing I had tripple a! I used it often!!!!

  • Dependable - 1995 Chrysler Cirrus
    By -

I bought this car new and beside the usual recalls (on new models), I have not had any major problems. Through the years, it has done great on snow and ice, and wet driving. I think this car is comfortable to drive, but my husband doesnt agree. The car is better suited for an average women or small man. My husband feels crowded in the car and my dad cannot even get in the car. If my car didnt have so many miles on it (I put 40 miles on per day, approx.)I would keep it, but its getting time to think of replacing. I would recommend this car to anyone, as long as you take care of it.

  • Good ride - 1995 Chrysler Cirrus
    By -

1995 was the first year and the car got Motor Trend car of the year . It has a great suspension and rides well. The engine is a 165 HP V6 Mitsubishi the transmission was Chrysler. Except for the radio light which went out on me twice. The car was good for 100,000 miles, with no problems other than normal maintenance, then bad stuff began to happen. Had a rattle in the door as well. At about 140,000 miles the transmission blew, had to replace the catalytic converter, voltage regulator, etc. Glad I did not get the 4 cylinder. The leather was poor quality. Otherwise, I liked the car. Now I have a 2003 Honda Accord Coupe EX with leather. Great car.

  • Hard fast milea - 2000 Chrysler Cirrus
    By -

I use this car in business and usually drive 1000 miles/week. I service it regularly and keep an eye on fluids. It has been reliable with only a transmission servo and oil pressure sending unit going out. It has the V6 and performs well. One of my trips is 460 miles-- Interstate driving at 80 and still get 29 mpg. Comfortable and simple inside. Im going to try to get 250 or 300K out of it as long as it is reliable.

  • Sweet Car - 1998 Chrysler Cirrus

At first getting a four dour car was not exciting, especially coming from a sporty two-door car(Pontiac Sunfire) But once I got in and realized and the comfort and quality of the ride, my perception changed. The V-6 in great, many people may think it is a slow car, but the 0-60 time is the same as a 00 Mercury Couger. My friends love riding in it with the leather too.

  • Luxury for very little - 1996 Chrysler Cirrus
    By -

The leather interior feels luxurious as do the comfortable seats. Mine is black ext. tan int. and it looks great! I love how it looks ageless. Its 8 yrs old and still fits in with the new crowd. I enjoy having a V6 and would never consider getting anything but. Ive had a good time with the car, except for the AC problems. In 03, I had to replace the whole unit for $1200, and now its broken again. I have had electrical problems also.

  • Reliable car - 1998 Chrysler Cirrus
    By -

I bought this car new. It has been very reliable. I now have 129000 miles on it. Be careful about transmission fluid on this vehicle. You MUST use Chrysler transmission fluid, or you will damage the transmission. The manual warns of this, and they arent kidding.

  • Gets the job done. - 1997 Chrysler Cirrus
    By -

I like my car it gets me around, plenty of space moving back and forth from School, and its quick when it has to be. Performance wise its sound it holds up well in the city and on the highway. Maintance is a different story. My biggest complint behind the safety reports are the breaks, which need to be relpaced every year(front and rear). So it tends to be an expencive car, on top of the regular maintenance. Other then that its fine for a first car, but i cant recomend it.
