51,000 miles and lots of problems - 2000 Chrysler Cirrus
By Jaras500 - September 2 - 9:22 amI bought the Cirrus two months ago and already Ive had to fork over almost $700 in repairs. The car looks nice and the inside is beautiful but thats about it. The car wont start when its hot outside or if it rained the night before. I am having a tuneup done on it to see if that will fix the problem but Im not getting my hopes up. The parts for this car are very expensive and you have to take out the entire engine just to get a tuneup done. Stay far away from this bucket of junk and buy a Toyota Corolla or Chevy Prizm. At least with them you wont be stranded in a parking lot in 90 degree weather or pouring rain.

Crap Crap Crap - 1999 Chrysler Cirrus
By Leah - June 22 - 10:07 amI got this car used. It was my parents but then the couldnt stand it anymore so they gave it to me. I have had so many problems. The AC and heating went out and after over $800 spent no one knows why. The transmission crapped out in 2007 and had to be replaced. When it gets hot outside the door panels stick and you cant open the drivers side door. Now the horn goes off whenever I turn the wheel and the only way to fix it is to disconnect it all together. This car has no redeeming qualities. Also, the gas gauge is hardly ever accurate.

Still running great after 12 years - 1998 Chrysler Cirrus
By Bob - June 8 - 8:57 pmThis car runs as good today as it did 12 years ago. Ive replaced all the normal things like the timing belt and breaks. My only dislike is the AC! Its never been very cold.

Great Car for Value - 1996 Chrysler Cirrus
By Chris Linkenhoker - December 30 - 9:54 pmI am the third owner of this vehicle and it has been great from day one. No major problems at all. Great fuel economy, large trunk, and plenty of interior room. A/C still blows ice cold, all power accessories work, and engine/transmission are great. Car has close to 150000 miles on it now and shows no sign of slowing down soon. Loved this car so much I bought an 06 Stratus and have been equally pleased, but still drive the Cirrus for my everyday car and even on long trips.

Keeps on Tickin - 1997 Chrysler Cirrus
By raschild - November 18 - 3:09 pmThis has been a faithful car for my wife and I. For the first three years of our marriage it was our only vehicle and handles the slopes of PA well. Only problems stem from lack of good maintenance by previous owner. This car uses brakes quickly as well. Otherwise it is running strong at nearly 157,000. Gets great mileage on open road, as high as 35, but normally around 30-31. V6 has just enough power, but is very hard to work on (cramped engine compartment). Good maintenance will keep it running for quite awhile. Great car for its age!

Decent Car - 1998 Chrysler Cirrus
By Karthik - October 29 - 4:41 pmI got this car in 2004 (had 63 k miles on it) Nice Spacious car, had a good mitsubishi v6 engine, good power and loaded with good features (for 1998). Ran fine till 84 k mile. I had a motor belt replaced at 85 k (65 $) A leak in some engine part ( 200 $ ) Antifreeze leak at 90 k (200$) Fuel Pump replaced @ 103 k ( 500 $ ) Gaskets replaced @ 105 ( 200 $) So good car till say 90 k miles and then it starts showing its age. But performance has never gone down. Still peppy and has lot of power. Is a stable and reasonably reliable car.

lots of problems - 2000 Chrysler Cirrus
By tok - August 30 - 10:50 pmbought the car from a family friend with 40,000 miles on it, and have had nothing but trouble, electrical system junk, replaced alternator and distributor several times. Front end fell apart and had to be rebuilt, and front brakes replaced annually. Will not buy another Chrysler.

Solid Car Until 150k - 1998 Chrysler Cirrus
By Tim Lindfelt - July 5 - 7:11 pmComfortable car. Feels heavy and bulky on turns, but overall nice drive. DO NOT use dealership for maintenance - not trustworthy. Needed quite a few small repairs (keep in mind i drove it heavily 25k per year): new battery, brakes wear somewhat quickly ignition cylinder replaced, then broke key lock in steering column and had to replace entire column, can move shifter with car off, etc. That said no MAJOR drivetrain repairs, so thats good...until the dreaded 150k...Began to stall and misfire. Had leaky valve cover gasket. Replaced spark plugs, ignition wire, cover gasket - $650. Runs better but still misfires and stalls occasionally so i gave it to charity. Overall happy until 150k

Pretty Junk - 1995 Chrysler Cirrus
By Tracy - June 15 - 10:38 pmI would love to tell you about my driving experience but the car is always broke down. I see why Chrysler is bankrupt. Their cars spend more time with the mechanic than the owner.
