I worked all summer to get a car and the 99 Chrysler cirrus was the one i bought. It has been the most reliable car anyone in my family has owned. i get between 25-30 MPG, and i have a slight oil and transmission leak but its no big deal right now. the Cirrus has wonderful handling, and it is definitely built for short people .

  • Great car the first seven years. - 1999 Chrysler Cirrus

We bought this car in January 1999 and have had no major problems with it. Over the years it has given us dependable service with minimum cost. It has lots of spunk and pep and handles well on all roads. A pleasure to drive on the interstate at max speed. Comfortable seating for four. Could have had better cup holders.

Car handles well, and seems to hold the road greatly. I never feel like I"m going to go out of control. The gas mileage isnt great considering its such a small V6. The airy cabin provides a lot of sunlight which can make the a/c work harder in the summer, but helps warm the car in the winter. Plenty of headroom for 6+ footers, and the large bottom seat cushion provides good thigh support not found on most imports. A lot of standard features make you feel like youre in the top of the line Chrysler model, and not the lesser equipped Dodge Stratus/Plymouth Breeze. The engine wants to rev to make its best power, but doesnt require everything its got to pass people.

  • Still running great after 12 years - 1998 Chrysler Cirrus

This car runs as good today as it did 12 years ago. Ive replaced all the normal things like the timing belt and breaks. My only dislike is the AC! Its never been very cold.

This has been a faithful car for my wife and I. For the first three years of our marriage it was our only vehicle and handles the slopes of PA well. Only problems stem from lack of good maintenance by previous owner. This car uses brakes quickly as well. Otherwise it is running strong at nearly 157,000. Gets great mileage on open road, as high as 35, but normally around 30-31. V6 has just enough power, but is very hard to work on (cramped engine compartment). Good maintenance will keep it running for quite awhile. Great car for its age!

I got this car in 2004 (had 63 k miles on it) Nice Spacious car, had a good mitsubishi v6 engine, good power and loaded with good features (for 1998). Ran fine till 84 k mile. I had a motor belt replaced at 85 k (65 $) A leak in some engine part ( 200 $ ) Antifreeze leak at 90 k (200$) Fuel Pump replaced @ 103 k ( 500 $ ) Gaskets replaced @ 105 ( 200 $) So good car till say 90 k miles and then it starts showing its age. But performance has never gone down. Still peppy and has lot of power. Is a stable and reasonably reliable car.

  • Solid Car Until 150k - 1998 Chrysler Cirrus

Comfortable car. Feels heavy and bulky on turns, but overall nice drive. DO NOT use dealership for maintenance - not trustworthy. Needed quite a few small repairs (keep in mind i drove it heavily 25k per year): new battery, brakes wear somewhat quickly ignition cylinder replaced, then broke key lock in steering column and had to replace entire column, can move shifter with car off, etc. That said no MAJOR drivetrain repairs, so thats good...until the dreaded 150k...Began to stall and misfire. Had leaky valve cover gasket. Replaced spark plugs, ignition wire, cover gasket - $650. Runs better but still misfires and stalls occasionally so i gave it to charity. Overall happy until 150k

  • loooong term review from original owner - 1999 Chrysler Cirrus

Bought the car new (1999). Still running well 10 years later with just under 77K miles. Only non-routine maintenance need was a glitch with the electronics for the automatic trans at around 30K miles. Trouble-free since. The 2.5 liter V6 engine is a winner - great mid-range torque for highway merging and passing, still gets great fuel economy in mid-20s mpg in mixed highway and city driving. Paint has held up remarkably well. Leather interior has held up well. Sunroof still works great. See no reason I wont be driving it another 2-3 years. If Chrylser had built all their models this well, the company would be in a lot better shape!

  • Best Car I Have Ever Owned!! - 2000 Chrysler Cirrus

I now have owned this car four years. It is without a dought the best car I have ever owued. I now have 237,000 miles on this car. It still runs fine and I hope to top 300,000 miles. I maintaine it properly and have had very few problems.

  • ok car - 1997 Chrysler Cirrus

First off this car is NOT for some one who wants to do the work themselves. I have had it 10 years and had to have the trans seas repaced and a $1000 sensor. Brakes are bad I would say all in all for a car that is 12 yrs old it has been above average. It still is peppy
