Nice Car But - 2004 Chrysler 300M
By W. Pasco - November 3 - 11:24 amBought the 300 M as a lease returned car with 1500 miles. We have put about 60k miles on since. Car drives well and has good take acceleration. Had to change brakes and rotors with only 40K miles. Now at 76k the water pump went out. This is a major cost,$700. Also to change the timing belt at 100 K is about $1000.

Nice car - 2000 Chrysler 300M
By Ken - October 2 - 2:06 pmI have owned this car about a year. It is comfortable, sporty and fun to drive. I like the auto-stick. However, some flaws are present. I had to replace the evaporator($700+) and there is a clunk in the front end that no one seems to be able to identify and fix.

Chrysler 300M - 2000 Chrysler 300M
By John - July 26 - 4:58 amBought a loaded, but used, 300M with 173,000 miles for wife at auction. Initially was leery about car, given Chryslers reputation for poor product quality, but so far have been pleasantly pleased. Highway acceleration is good. Sound system is nice, except two speakers are blown, and I cant stand the idea of paying for something that my 10-year-old son calls "cosmetic." Only major mechanical problem has been a transmission sensor that put car into "limp in" mode. Once diagnostic code was cleared, car ran fine. I think my 300M must have been lovingly maintained by a doctor or something, because its been--knock on wood-- relatively problem-free. Insurance costing more than maintenance.

One of the best - 2002 Chrysler 300M
By One of the best - June 4 - 4:17 pmThis has been a reliable car. We bought it with 59.000 mi and it now has 101,000. My husband loves to drive it, he says it has get up and go. The check engine light came on a few days after we bought it, so it went to the shop a few times and although the light would be off when we picked it up, it would always come back on- And remains on to this day. Tires need to be replaced soon, those will cost nearly $500. My husband says were switching from Michelin to Yokohama. Love the moonroof! Timing belt and brakes need to be replaced soon, but other than that, have replaced nothing major. The long front end makes it hard to tell how close you are to anything. Good solid car. Safe for families.

Oil pan blues - 1999 Chrysler 300M
By inkfixx - April 22 - 1:42 pmI loved my car but every day that I go with out a new oil pan, cause Chrysler cant seem to make any cause Im number 500 plus people looking for one. So what do I do just drive around with a leaking oil pan plug, get oil all over my nice car, and then someday it leave me on the side of the road cause I cant get a flipping oil pan come on Chrysler give me a break I work hard for a living I dont need this worry on back of my mind when Im going on a road trip. See I use this car for my weekends and road trips it parked during the week. Every time I have the dealer change my oil I worry down the road... I have the oil pan blues

Great fun, when it runs - 2004 Chrysler 300M
By Chuebs - January 5 - 2:52 amThis car is both the best car Ive ever owned, and the worst. Its sleek, low, NASCAR inspired style is beautiful. It will fly on the freeway, and rumble impressively in town. The 3.5 litre motor has loads of power. The interior design, bells & whistles are first class. However, it is scared of snow. Even changing to snow tires, the car is skittery and quite nerve wracking. It uses up brake pads every 10K miles. As mentioned in other reviews, the low profile causes the front spoiler to hang up on parking blocks, ripping the front facia loose. Its prone to have expensive climate control problems. The failure of an engine cam sensor nearly caused a major freeway accident.

Really a great car - 1999 Chrysler 300M
By k2211 - December 25 - 1:18 amChrysler did a good job when making this vehicle. No problems at all. Really good snow traction. very comfortable to ride in, and it drives smaller than it is. Huge back seat. Fuel consumption is about average for a V6. Interior design is great. Build quality is good, not great. But thats light years ahead of any Ford or GM product of the time could say. The materials used for interior construction is realy good in some parts, barly okay in others, but they are in spots you usually dont touch. I think most people who purchase this vehicle will be very pleased. It deserves its "car of the year" award for 1999.

**BUMP** goes the OBD - 2002 Chrysler 300M
By ChryslerFan - September 7 - 6:48 pmI just purchased this car and took it out on a rather bumpy road. Hit a bump and the orangy OBD (On Board Diagnostics) light came on [not to be confused with check engine] Thankfully it was just a sensor, and it was reset, but the car is built like an airplane, with a zillion sensors that monitor everything except what you are listening to. It adjusts temperature and seats, and this and that and wow is all I can say.

A great car except for a few nuisances - 1999 Chrysler 300M
By Hans Gruber - June 21 - 10:45 amThree perpetual problems: Brakes, front end alignment, and AC. Every year, I pay a different mechanic to take a shot at fixing these things. For a few months each year when everything works correctly, this is a fantastic car. The rest of the time, its an OK car that looks great and provides transportation. Mileage (21 mpg combined) is quite good for the size/weight/power of this car. Engine and transmission have been rock solid.
