  • I Wont Do That Again - 2001 Chrysler 300M
    By -

I bought my 2001 300m last summer. By December the transmission went out. When I bought the car it had picture perfect carfax. It was beautiful. I fell in love at first sight. However, the honeymoon did not last long. I had to replace the front struts and a tie rod end. $890. A couple months later the ac condenser went out. Even with repairs I felt the car rode rough compared to my Avalon. Finally the transmission went out. Really? I take care of my vehicles and even if I didnt I did not have enough time to neglect it. This car died at 175--- miles. I was the third owner and it came with maintenance records. Never again!

  • Electrical Ghost Cost me serious money... - 1999 Chrysler 300M

I loved this car, my kids loved this car, I enjoyed driving it...I hated giving it up! I was nickled and dimed with the windows and some other small electrical issues and the shifter had to be fixed as well and the air conditioner as well. But the killer was I lost my shirt when it just didnt start up or started up real ugly one day...never drove it again after spending THOUSANDS on "Well, it must be this" and "well, well try this"...it got so bad the dealership actually did most of the work at the end for free and brought in a professional who was baffled as well. A friend finally told me to dump it and go on from there...he was right. The ghost won on this one!

  • Will it be a classic? - 1999 Chrysler 300M

We bought in 1998 and had problems with the sound system right off. Finally replaced the whole sys. on warranty and worked fine after that. At 140K mi. its as good as ever. Replaced frnt. tie rods @102K the radiator @ 135K mi. I like the car, and I dont like most of the cars Ive owned. It is our summer car now as we live in snow country and with 4" of clearance its not going to push snow like our Jeep, although the limited slip frnt diff works well on snow. Its not worth anything and just keeps going and going so well keep it till it stops moving. We try to keep it up as Im thinking more and more like this will be a Mopar classic. We wont live long enough to know, however.

  • Great performance, mediocre reliability. - 2000 Chrysler 300M
    By -

I have had the car for 4 years so far. Bought it in 2008 with 77K miles on it. Since then Ive had to replace the power door lock on the drivers side, the front suspension control arms, turn signal flasher and the oil pressure switch. The a/c also doesnt blow cold because theres a leak in the a/c system (the condenser, compressor, or evaporator). Not sure if I want to spend the money to fix the a/c. Also the interior instrument panel lights were flashing, so I replaced the headlight/dimmer switch assembly with a used on purchased from eBay (that fixed the problem). However the car has strong acceleration and smooth engine performance, but Chrysler needs to focus on reliability.

  • Waiting/hoping to expect something good from America - 2001 Chrysler 300M
    By -

Hello all, I purchased a 1998 Dodge Ram Van, new, and vowed that it would be the last Chrysler product that I would ever own. The Van didnt last 10 years until it was in the junk yard. Recently I purchased a 2001 Chrysler 300M. The car looks really sharp and is fun to drive. I purchased it from a dealer who gave me a great price. I know of the previous single owner and they took great care of the car as all the records show. Second day with the car it began to shake at 50-70 mph. There were LOTS of new parts. Turns out the torque converter and timing belt need replacing. Another $3k. So much for a good deal. I want to buy American...quit making JUNK and I will.

  • Enjoying since 2007 - 2002 Chrysler 300M

When I was looking for a car in 2007, a chrysler 300M was not even on my shopping list. I was looking at a couple of Pontiac Grand Prixs when my eyes caught this beauty. This car stood out in a room filled with more than 50 cars at a local dealer in Toronto. After road testing it with a couple of friends in the back seat, who by the way found the back seat to be ultra comfortable with support for the back of your knee, I instantly fell in love with this car. The performance from the engine was surprising awesome for a 3.5 lt V6 in a full sized sedan and so was the handling. Every time I take this thing out for a spin, I am very confident while taking turns that it wont under or oversteer.

  • I am going to Miss This Car! - 1999 Chrysler 300M

Had this car since it was a 2002 and had to give it up after 8 years of ownership. Nice styling, power and a comfortable ride. Changed the oil ever 3K and pampered it. Only problems were 1: Power Window Regulators (replaced 3 of them) 2: Chrome wheels began flaking and wouldnt hold tire pressure - had 4 wheels resurfaced $500. 3: Had to update the radio finally after CD stopped working This car would have probably gone to 250K miles, but it began to nickel and dime me. Latest quote was $2,000 for new struts and tranny was slipping a bit between 2nd and 3rd so it was time to move or have a possible money-pit starting.

  • Not too shabby - 2002 Chrysler 300M
    By -

I purchased this car used with high miles so my expectations werent the greatest. The first few problems i ran into would have been minor had I owned any other domestic car. I dont understand why parts are so much and mechanics cringed at the thought of working on it. The tranny went out and drained my bank account but I have the previous owner to thank for that. I seem to continue to have issues with the power mirrors going haywire but otherwise no electrical problems. All told, I like the looks and feel of the car and if the new tranny takes it over 200,000 miles Ill be satisfied with my investment. Provided nothing else major goes wrong.
