BEWARE OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES!!! (but Im going to miss it!) - 1999 Chrysler 300M
By ekasser11 - January 25 - 6:49 pmI first bought this car at an auction at 195,000 miles and it was overheating and the lights were not working, cost me about $250 to fix. Later on, it kept randomly shutting down on me and ended up being the fuel sensor which cost me another $230. I got the car all checked out an drove it from Texas to New Hampshire up through Canada with NO PROBLEMS! Then a couple months after I got here, it shut down on me again, not to ever start back up...the guy now says that the problems are so extensive because of the electrical issues that even if I were to get them fixed it would just break down again in the future, BUYERS BEWARE!

Always Problems - 1999 Chrysler 300M
By 99300M - August 23 - 6:02 pmI have had the car for 10 years and although I only have 65,000 miles, I wish I could find a way to get rid of it. This has been one of the best performing cars I have owned but there is always something wrong with it. About 4 years my A/C went and the cost is approximate $2,000 which is what the car is worth. Most of the interior lights dont work, head light switch need to be changed annually, window motors, transmission sensors and the list goes on. Car is only good for the 4 miles I drive daily to the train station.

I should have known better... - 1999 Chrysler 300M
By TW - January 12 - 5:57 pmIve been hesitant at buying a Chrysler ever since the transmission problems of the 80s. This car caught my eye and made me forget about the way Chrysler didnt stand behind their product in the past. My two 7 inch long cracks in the dash around the airbag knocked me back to reality. Chrysler doesnt care and says that its "environmental". Since I cant trade the car like this and it will cost over $1000 to fix it, this car has now become my official beater. Unfortunately, the internal dash lights are now starting to flicker and the transmission is sporadically jerking, so I dont think my beater is going to last much longer.

I Will Never Buy One Again! - 1999 Chrysler 300M
By Haley - May 10 - 5:36 pmThis car has been nothing but trouble since we bought it. It has been in and out of the shop for breaking down on the freeway. The dealership quit charging us when we brought it in because they dont know what is wrong with it. To add to it, the electric windows stopped working. As soon as we can get rid of it we will. I will never buy another Chrysler.

Watch out! - 1999 Chrysler 300M
By Fred - December 31 - 1:20 pmLooks great..fun to drive, but not reliable! Before the engine blew at 136,000 miles without warning on Thanksgiving Day, stranding my family far from home..mechanic was amazed because the car had been meticulously maintained mechanically: The car rolled backwards when parked and gear shift stopped shifting smoothly..fixed 9 months before the recall, Chrysler REFUSED to pay us back..they couldnt be sure the problem was actually fixed. I sent documentation. They didnt care! Replaced 3 defective rims, 2 power windows, tie rods and alternator before 90,000 miles. The Dash lights started flickering affecting radio and heater..computer was going out. Not buying a Chrysler again!

Had to get rid of it - 1999 Chrysler 300M
By panther - January 25 - 2:00 amWhen I first bought this car and for the first three years (end of warranty), it was great. Only one minor in warranty problem. Then things started to happen. First it was a rear window motor, then the transmission module. Then the biggest one -- rack and pinion -- that was a dreamy $1500 repair. After that, corrosion of two of the chrome wheels. Finally, another window motor and the ac evaporator. Just did not want to spend any more money and just unloaded it. Extremely disappointed with reliability. None of these problems were caused by neglect. Just lousy manufacturing. Will not touch another Chrysler.

A Big Risk - 1999 Chrysler 300M
By O. Profis - June 4 - 2:00 amI was not inclined to buy American but the exterior looks/style won me over. This car, just like most Chryslers, is a piece of junk. After 4 months of ownership i have invested over 3k into it (Enigne fans (2x), rotors, Front wheel barings!!!, multiple sensors, break pads) Ive invested so much that im reluctant to sell it. If Chrysler worked out the mechanical problems on this car, it would be a class leader and as far as i know they havent so BEWARE!!!

Poor quality car - 1999 Chrysler 300M
By Chrisy - May 26 - 2:00 amAll of my power windows had to be changed out due to motor breaking. Had problems with air system, car broke overheated and had to change compressor at 40K miles. 50k miles the stearing has major problems. Standard Goodyear tires that come with the car do not last very long with normal driving conditions at best 25K miles. I suggest everyone who considers buying this car get a extended bumper to bumper warranty to cover all the problems
