This Year's Model Updates:

The 2005 Chrysler 300 is an all-new, rear-wheel-drive flagship sedan; it replaces the Concorde and 300M. In a clear move away from the cab-forward design theme Chrysler championed in the 1990s, the 300 represents the company's bold new direction and makes use of plenty of Mercedes-Benz technology. Available features include Chrysler's Hemi V8, stability control, side curtain airbags and, later in the year, all-wheel drive.

Pros:
  • Chiseled and masculine good looks, powerful V8 in 300C model, long list of safety features, plenty of luxury and performance for the price paid.
Cons:
  • Sluggish acceleration with base V6, limited transmission choices, complex stereo controls.

  • What a Rush - 2005 Chrysler 300

Well were kind of old timers I got my 05 Chrysler 300C in August of 2004. Nothing but happiness since then except for the Continental tires. No tranny issues, no wind leak, no complaints at all. I’ve got 19.5K on it now and my experience mirrors the long term test at “Automobile” Magazine. Their 7 or 8 months into a full years test and using 12 drivers report no issues. My 300C goes like hell and gives me a rush whenever I take it out. The Hemi is simply Awesome. My Wife usually takes it so I end up with here Camry. It’s a pretty good car except for loosing head gaskets (2) and requiring no-doz because its as boring as driving a toaster.

As a previous owner of a 300M, the 300C is clearly in a classy category. From the smooth, quiet ride to the top notch stereo system to the Hemi experience, this is something that must be test driven. Ive had the car for three weeks and Im still excited just to drive it to the grocery store. Anyone who grew up with rear wheel drive cars will wonder how they ever accepted front wheel drive vehicles.

  • Not overly impressed - 2005 Chrysler 300

The interior is filled with cheap, hard plastic and switchgear, which, IMO will probably start losing pieces and squeaking within 20k miles. At idle, the engine shakes the car. Engine and road noise are intrusive at all speeds. The ride was overly rough - - each small bump is met with a a jar and suspension noise. There is no steering feedback. I am worried that the 8-4 technology will, at the end of the day, ruin the engine (remember the Caddy 8-6-4?) If it really worked, why isnt Mercedes using it on their cars? The 300C competes well with Lincolns and Caddys, but Mercedes, BMW and Lexus are in an entirely different league.

The most beautiful auto I have ever owned. Also, the best for my ego as I get constant "thumbs up" from pedestrians and other drivers.

This may be the wifes car, but I get it on weekends. Mannnn, this baby sure does fly. Although the Hemi can be a gas-eater, you can learn to adjust your driving style to hit 17mpg + in city driving, and 22 + on the freeway (CC @ 92). With CC @ 75, nets about 24.3 mpg. We love the car and its every bit deserving of its Car of the Year Status. We were disappointed with Consumer Reports (Japanese Biased) rating on this vehicle. Im over 6 tall and do not feel claustrophobic inside the spacious cabin. It does seat 5 large adults, comfortably. This vehicle is a modern day warrior which can easily run with the Muscle of the Late 60s and Early 70s, especially when you remove the speed limiter.

I love this car. Its by far the fastest car I ever had. It has every option. Everything works fine. The main problem I had is with the front spoiler it was so low that I went over the parking block at the gas station OK but when I backed up it pulled the whole front end off. It cost me $1500.00 to fix it, I then did it again at the bank so I took it off and it fine now.

Best car ever owned in my 40 years of car buying.(Well, 67 Vette may have been better for twenties image and social life) Mileage on hemi is 26 highway and 23 highway city combined - this from AWD which controls snow and rain greater. Continental tires were third rate for a first rate car. Chryslers engineers only shame here. If you check consumer ratings figure no more than 20,000 miles.Only disappoint in car. Stereo fantastic - Navi second best I have seen (Acura no.1) Bluetooth functions great for those hands free calls.Maintence free except standard check ups. Worth the $40,000 price compared to comparable cars.

I was not planning on buying this car as my husband had just bought his Silver 300C four months before, but when he called me from the dealer (he was getting his first regular service done on his 300C, he said a Jade Green 300c had just been delivered! I traded in my 1999 Cadillac Concours and truly enjoy the super looks and the handling and power of my 300C. Our daughter bought a CHARGER with the HEMI in Dec. 2005 and she loves her DODGE!
