scary - 1997 Chevrolet Venture
By jholt - May 18 - 2:00 amDo not get this car! At 95,000 miles it needed a new engine. About 10,000 miles later, it needed a $300-$400 repair every month or so. I have now decided to just buy another car. Take my advice, DO NOT GET THIS CAR!

problems with dexcool and manifold gaske - 1997 Chevrolet Venture
By no more chevys - August 14 - 2:00 ambought new. had to dealer 3 times for muddy antifreeze. Now the manifold gasket is leaking, and waterpump. all problems noted on other reviews. I love driving it, but cant stand the maintenance problems. 6 years old, only 53,000 mi. Why cant chevy build a vehicle to last. Im looking into Toyota next time.

Booooooooring - 1997 Chevrolet Venture
By Jesse Venture - March 11 - 2:00 amBought my ho-hum minivan after my 3rd child was born. Drives like a cargo van, even the frills arent anything great. Brakes needed to be done quickly, full, all four. Built by Chevy as a "throw away", I think, since it was relatively inexpensive and the resale value is next to nothing. Dont expect to resell it once youve owned it and make a profit, if not break even!

First American Auto Experience - 1997 Chevrolet Venture
By sgrobbo - March 15 - 6:56 pmWith a new family, we felt it important to get a minivan. Got a great deal on a Venture. My wife and I have never owned an American vehicle, and frankly are not used to the # of times weve had to take it in for non-scheduled service. So far, weve had 3 recalled parts, a faulty fuel gauge, and several build-quality issues with accecories (window latches, lighter outlet, etc.) Though it drives nicely, Im growing weary of seeing the service dept (though they have been wonderful). If problems continue, a trade-in for a Siena or Honda is imminent....
