Overview & Reviews
The TrailBlazer EXT gets minor interior revisions this year. Seating has been restyled and boasts comfort and quality improvements. Detail changes include revised chrome accents, trim enhancements and a new instrument panel appearance. A stereo system with CD/MP3 compatibility and full-length side curtain airbags (replacing last year's front-seat side airbags) are new options this year. Power rear-quarter windows are also new for 2005.
- Class-leading engine power, soft highway ride, room for seven, extensive features list, simple controls.
- Skittish handling around corners, numb steering, generic interior design with mediocre materials.

Our 05 Trailblazer - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
By Ray Plaag - February 22 - 7:29 pmI see some of the complaints about the trailblazer...Mostly from people who bought them used...You never how they were broke in and taken care of..We bought ours new and took reasonable care of it over the years ...Best truck I ever owned!.and the 4 wheel drive is awesome.!.We have newer vehicles but I wouldnt trade the ole gal in with 256 thousand miles on it ..They wont give me anything for it anyway..a few issues for sure ..two fuel pumps two water pumps...struts,brakes stuff like that...IOur kids when they were young nicknamed it the fun mobile ..:) ...They are grown up now with there own lives....My point being ...We will just keep..her...she has a few little quirks but its 13 years old...and still dependable ...

Wish I could keep it - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
By lauramary - September 10 - 2:40 amI absolutely loved this SUV. Very comfortable. Got lots of extras ~ DVD player ~ Bose stereo, but the poor gas mileage was too much to bear. I had to trade this vehicle in because I was only averaging 12 miles per gallon combined city/hwy. My daily work commute is city driving. I realize that I took a loss when I traded her in, but every time I drove it, I pictured cash burning in the gas tank. A valuable lesson learned.

2005 Whistler - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
By Jim - June 28 - 6:06 amThe first problem I had was the XM radio cable was broken and had to be replaced. Next I have a LOT of wind noise around the dash. The dealer pulled the windshield and found the sealant had dripped away from the windshied. Next they found a clip broke on the door seal. All this and I still have a lot of wind noise. I guess now that the radio works I can turn it up to hide the wind noise I feel that the qualitity is NOT UP to GM Standards

Roomy but impractical - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
By Tim - July 8 - 10:00 amI bought it thinking that this would suit my family for years, it has 3rd row, 4wd, tow package etc. Unfortunately it completely impractical, i have 2 small children in car seats and 1 on the way. You cant get to the 3rd row with any car seats in the 2nd row. The middle seat in the 2nd row is tiny like a sedan. So with our third on the way, we need to sell so we can fit 3 kids in the car (without having to crawl over the seat to get in the back row) Also if you bought the V6, you better be ready stay in the same lane, youll never pass anyone! Typical Chevy repairs, thermostat, cam shaft, fuel pump, fuel gauge sensor. Overall not practical for young kids

Fun to drive - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
By Frank - November 28 - 6:53 pmVery comfortable, with a roomy back. A must with leather and XM Radio. Lots of storage, however bad on gas.

Poor Seat Configuration - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
By Demers Family - April 11 - 4:53 pmI hate the configuration of the second row seats. The latch system is only on the second row on the middle seat and behind the passenger seat. If you latch the infant seat behind the passenger seat you are forced to vacate the whole 3/4 bench in order to flip the seat forward to let the back seat passengers in and out of the vehicle. Also since it is a 3/4 seat that flips forward the carseat gets caught by the large seat and if the toddler has their hand in the path it gets caught by the seat flipping forward. We have only owned the vehicle two weeks and this has happened to our baby four times already. The second row needs to be redesigned for better access and easier use.

TRAILBLAZER EXT - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
By MIKE POWER - August 30 - 6:40 amThe Chevy Trailblazer EXT is the best SUV we have ever purchased. Plenty of pick up and go, plenty of room, and the third row seating is very comfortable. Gas mileage is a bit worse than the regular sized Trailblazer. With rear heat and a/c everyone is comfortable all the time. We also have XM satellite radio and OnStar that are wonderful additions. I will never buy any other SUVs than Chevys again!!!

Chevy Trailblazer EXT Family Transporter - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
By Go Spartans - April 8 - 11:26 pmThis vehicle replaced our Chevrolet Venture Warner Brothers model mini van. They both had pros and cons. The handling of the SUV is better and the acceleration is better. The roominess with the longer wheel base is limited by the folding rear seats. It is nice to set up higher, but when you have little kids it is harder for them to get in on their own. Over all I enjoy every time I get to drive the Trailblazer. My neighbors like it too.

Trailblazer is great - 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
By Corey Cornick - March 5 - 1:53 amI love my SUV! Thats all I can say. It has come through for me. I have hauled everything from 60 bags of mulch to a basketball hoop on the roof. The EXT is a very versatile vehicle. My wife thinks Im crazy when I park the Lexus in the garage and take the Trailblazer out on the town. This is a very wise choice of a vehicle. My next SUV will be the Trailblazer SS!
