not a great choice - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By BarbieCar - December 23 - 2:00 amWe bought this car new 2 yrs ago and while we havent had trouble with it mechanically, it was a bad choice. My husband was in a head on collision in this car at 40 mph and the airbag failed to deploy. Theres no room for luggage and passengers in this car, you have to chose one or the other. It gets blown all over the place on windy highways & bridges,& the steering is so tight that the wheel turns itself when the tires hit small bumps. It makes for a very swervy ride. The soft top makes a lot of noise while driving. Overall it is fun to drive in the summer, but if its going to be your only transportation, you may want to reconsider.

joe - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By Robert Tango - May 11 - 2:00 amThe trim has some cheapness to it. The car was expensive in light of its subsequent, rapid depreciation. There was only one manufacturing defect.

Good, honest, basic, cheap 4WD jeep - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By MikeinMO - February 6 - 2:00 amI bought the Tracker because it was the only GM model available locally with a 5-spd (I had GM$). The Tracker is not refined, comfortable, not a very good freeway car. It is fun to drive, great on dirt and gravel roads, gets better gas mileage than any SUV (24 avg), has decent cargo space and is reliable (check cons. rep.). It is much more Jeep-like than the CRV or RAV, but with GM$ and rebates its about $5,000 cheaper. I chose the 5 speed 4cyl, which drives like a late 80s Japanese truck but feels rugged and is fun and economical. With 4WD, PW, PDL and cruise, I paid (after rebates) $14,500. Ive had it for a year now, and like it more than when I first bought it.

Better than a Rav4$ - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By Minipins - December 28 - 2:00 amNo Major Problems. V-6 is a must!! Has good power. Stereo needs improvement. Lots of interior noise once over 60mph. Cruise takes awhile to kick in once turned. Worth getting the LT Loaded.

Big space in small package - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By GaryODS - October 16 - 2:00 amWe bought this rig to save us some fuel (also have a Dodge 1500). We bought the 2.0 L inline 4. While its a little weak, it makes up for it by being frugel. We broke this one in fast and loose crusing in the 75-85 MPH range from CA to Denver and back. At 80+ we were getting 25+ MPG Im 66" and this was the only mini SUV we found that had enough leg room for me (barely). We are satisified with it so far.

Tracker, the little SUV that couldnt - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By TrackerBurner - July 15 - 2:00 amThis is the absolute worst ownership experience Ive had with a vehicle. Its under-powered. Completely worthless when it comes to value. I had it appraised and the thing lost so much of its value, that I cant even trade it in. I owe 8 thousand dollars more than then car is worth. Thumbs down to the Suzuki.... ummm Chevrolet Tracker.

Simeyas Cheverolet Tracker Experience - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By Simeya Hobby - June 30 - 2:00 amWell, since I have bought my new Tracker i have had nothing but problems. I had 3 oil leaks with in 1 year on owning the car, gas pump went out, brake light went out, suspension bolt was loose, and a coolant leak. I never imagined I would have this much trouble with a new car. I havent had the car 2 years yet. The dealer ship has offered to buy the car back from me and give refund me for all of my payments ( with the help of the BBB).

My Wifes ZR-2 - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By Country - June 11 - 2:00 amIts a very nice car, not to big but not to small to the point I have to fold myself up to get in, and she didnt want anything big. It drives very nice, and smooth, we have taken 3 trips so far , and it has been great. The biggest problem I see is that it doesnt like a crosswind much, but I put bigger wheels on it, and that did the trick. I also did a few small things with the motor to wake up some horses, its real nice now. To me its a pretty good family car, I dont think anyone would go wrong with a small family.
