During the first 5 months of ownership, the dealer had the transmission out 5 times due to broken synchronizers. The last time, they checked, and found a service bulletin from the factory that a few transmissions were built without a certain synco kit. When they replaced it in my tranny, that was the last of my problems. Other than that, this is as close to the perfect car that I have ever found. Fun to drive, (5-speed), quick acceleration, I can carry two adults comfortably in the back seat. Best of all is the gas milage. I have the 2.0L engine, 5-speed, two wheel drive. No matter how I drive the Tracker, I get 30 mpg. I took the car on a 2K mile trip and never got tired of sitting in it.

  • Great Deal - 2004 Chevrolet Tracker

Purchased this vehicle in March of 2005 as new with full warrenty. Dealer sold for $14,000 with sticker of $23,000. Unfortunately we had to accept it with only the std options that it came with. After 10,000 miles no problems. Cant wait to try out the 4x4 in Michigan winters.

  • Not bad for a girl car - 1999 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

I thought when I bought this car I was buying a girl car, but getting a good deal for the money I paid. I was plesantly surprised that this car is fantastic and really fits my needs. It is my familys second car and fits perfectly in that role. Not the best for familys or long road trips, But it can drive in town with the best of them. I have found that i get sufficent gas milage. Plus it fits neatly into small places.

  • No regrets so far - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

The Tracker has been a very good car so far. Its fun to drive, and Ive had no problems with it. With normal maintenance and expected parts replacement (battery, brake pads, etc), its been virtually problem free. The only complaints are the lack of leg room for the driver, even with the seat all the way back, and the carpet is not very durable. This car is just what it looks like, cute, fun, and good on gas.

  • 80k miles and going strong - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

A lot of fun for 4x4 in the snow or mud. This car seems a bit cramped at times for an SUV, but is definitley bigger than most cars. Lots of head room. The daytime running lights are nice, but impossible to turn off while the keys are in it ( like if you want to run the defogger at the drive-in). Its impossible to sleep in the back with the seats down if youre 58". 80k miles, 22mpg. Changing the oil requires removal of a heavy heat sheild ( not fun ).

  • 02 ZR2 - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker

I bought my Tracker ZR2 to tow behind our motorhome. Setup for towing four down is a breeze. Transmission in park - Transfer in neutral - key on access and go. Tow brackets are available off the shelf and are simple DIY bolt on. The bracket receivers pass through the grill without mods and when the hitch assembly is off they are next to invisible. I dont know its behind my diesel pusher when towing. I love its size. I can make a parking spot most anywhere. Its manueverable and fun to drive.

  • Good for the Money - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker

Bought a lease return in its first year and was my first "American" vehicle purchase in over twenty years. Loving the value I got from paying 1/2 the price for a new one and also the continued trouble free operation. Four wheel drive has been more than handy in three blizzard occasions. The top comes off easily enough and gives you a wide open feel with big windows for full visibility.

  • Great tow and work vehicle - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

The Tracker is easy to park and gets very good gas mileage. We tow it behind our motorhome and it is very easy to hook up. The shift on the fly 4WD is great. I drive this vehicle to work on the interstate and in town and it handles well in all situations. If youre looking for a dependable tow vehicle or work vehicle this one will do the job.

Bought my Tracker new and have had no problems with it at all love the 4 cylinder engine.

  • More for the money - 2004 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

I bought the Tracker after I had wrecked my Blazer. I did so out of economical reasons and wound up being pleasantly surprised. It has more strength in the V6 engine and pretty good mileage. It handled better than my old Blazer in the poor weather and it is handling its first winter like a champ! The only problem is that it is just a tad too small for rear adult passengers and cargo. However, for a single person who wants more versatility out of their vehicle, the Tracker is the smart way to go.
