  • Engine Problems - 2004 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

After driving sedans exclusively for the past 15 years, this was an enjoyable aquisition. We were looking for a second car and decided to try a Mini SUV - fits the profile well. Only issue was an Engine problem where by the only way to start the tracker was to pump the gas and then it would be rough running for the first minute. Turned out to be a temp sensor as part of the injector system. Had it fixed and worked fine since but the problem has come back at least twice since. I bumped into one person with another 2004 Tracker ZR2 and surprise they are having the same problem... GM please fix it.

  • Love my Tracker - 1999 Chevrolet Tracker

One month after I bought my first tracker in December of 2002 - I was going thru an intersection and was hit on the side of my car by a guy who had ran the red light. MY car flipped from the impact. Even though I think Trackers are cute vehicles and fun to drive - I do not recommend them for safety. My mom told me when I bought the tracker to be careful because they flip easy. I told her that was the OLD model - the newer models (mine is a "99) are designed better. But I learned VERY quickly that the newer models flip just as easy as the old. Be Safe!

  • I liked it more than my wife - 2003 Chevrolet Tracker

I just sold my tracker after 4100 miles. My re-sale wasnt bad. I acyually liked that little truck...my wife didnt. We had to sell it though because we were moving and couldnt take it with us. Fun ride, not bad off- road and a lot more room than expected with the rear seats down.

Good milage for a 4wd. I avg 24-25mpg. Interior is a little cramped for long trips, plastic scratches easily & leaves white marks.

  • ZR2 is Ok - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker

I wanted something for daily, in-town commute and occasional 4WD for snow days in Michigan. The ZR2 Tracker has been great! I was a Toyota owner, but opted for the Tracker after failing to find a comparably priced RAV. Very reliable minimal maintenance expenses. Rear end collision repair reasonable and damage resistant. Cons are low end gas mileage, no intermittent rear wiper, and no arm rest. Not bad! And I bought my used as a lease return.

Had this SUV 3+ years piling up 30k per yr with no major problems. Only one repair at around 92k miles to replace the steering knuckle.

My wife and I are both tall and appreciate the fact we both fit nicely into this vehicle. The seats are comfortable and leg room ample. We have taken this car on several long trips, both winter and summer, and found the ride pleasant and comfortable. This is an affordable, comfortable rig. I have two trackers and enjoy both of them.

  • Good to go! - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker

I have owned this vehicle for 3 years and getting ready to sell, but only because I need a truck. I have not had one problem and is very reliable after 49000 miles. Did great in snow and ice and has pin-point steering. Driver and front passenger seats are confortable, but rear seating is tight, so if you have passengers in the back, you will have to move up in the front which may make you uncomfortable. Lots of noise within the cabin while driving, but these are my only complaints.

  • not a great choice - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

We bought this car new 2 yrs ago and while we havent had trouble with it mechanically, it was a bad choice. My husband was in a head on collision in this car at 40 mph and the airbag failed to deploy. Theres no room for luggage and passengers in this car, you have to chose one or the other. It gets blown all over the place on windy highways & bridges,& the steering is so tight that the wheel turns itself when the tires hit small bumps. It makes for a very swervy ride. The soft top makes a lot of noise while driving. Overall it is fun to drive in the summer, but if its going to be your only transportation, you may want to reconsider.

  • Not bad really... - 2003 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

My tacker isnt the prettiest or nicest car in the world however it has room and drvies well. She has good get up and go and is "cute". I cant think of anything bad to say about it all! I have had no problems and it handles well in the snow and rain if I kick it into 4 wheel drive. The only bad thing is the gas mileage but that comes with the territory huh??
