Use of my Tracker since new - 2000 Chevrolet Tracker
By RogerD - December 5 - 11:53 amI purchased this vehicle new for a towed vehicle behind my motorhome. It was one of few light weight vehicles that could be towed 4 down. It has only 26000 miles as of this date, and I use it almost daily. I have had no problems with it and except for some wind noise, and low horsepower, I think it is a great vehicle and plan to keep it until the wheels fall off. Thanks

Great SUV - 2004 Chevrolet Tracker
By Deena - October 29 - 4:34 amI love my Tracker. I had been without a car for a couple years and got a job that required me to have a car. I looked at 2 cars. The Tracker was the only one I test drove and I loved it the second I got in it. Its great on road trips and I can get everything I need into it. The cargo space could be just a tad longer but it works for me.

Never broke down in 8 years - 1999 Chevrolet Tracker
By KennyS - June 28 - 8:44 amThis car has never broken down once since December 1999 with only 400 miles to start with. I changed the oil religiously and never drove crazy. Ive recently had the brake pads changed for the first time in 8 years. Ill be driving this car over 2,000 miles from TX to WA so Ill really be testing it now. The exterior black plastic runner along the drivers side door has come unglued and is about the only noticable defect. I dont know if Im just lucky or if I have the only Tracker that was built to last.

Needs better mileage - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker
By lou - June 11 - 7:51 amLive in Michigan and commute 30 miles one way to work everyday. I cannot complain about my little SUV. I have had to replace an engine at about 80,000 miles, but even with a hole in the engine, my little SUV did not leave me stranded. It kept plugging along. Im not real pleased with the gas mileage. I have to keep it above half a tank or it drinks the gas down something terrible, but then it does have 96,000 miles on it.

I Love It! - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker
By Mary - May 26 - 5:19 amI bought this car used in 03 and have loved it ever since. I have had a few costly problems, but otherwise it runs great and is a blast to drive, easy to park, fun off road. The only problems I have had have been at about 30,000 mile the master switch for the power windows broke, cost of almost $300 to replace, but I found one on Ebay for $10! Also I Just replaced the rear brakes, $700 later. I have 60,000 on it now and plan to keep it for at least another 5 years.

Must have been built on a Friday - 2000 Chevrolet Tracker
By whocares - May 1 - 9:31 pmPurchased the tracker new in late 2000. Got the no frills, basic 5 speed model. At approximately 3,000 miles loud squeaks and squeals came from engine transmission area. I told dealer I thought it was trans but he supposedly changed water pump. Went back and forth changing parts finally trans 5th gear blew at 65,000 others are not far behind. Directional and electrical wires grounded out between firewall and trans. oil seals began leaking heavily at 70,000. Built by Suzuki but not as dependable as Samurai I have.

2004 LT Tracker - 2004 Chevrolet Tracker
By RW - March 28 - 12:10 pmHave 28,000 miles on my 04 LT Tracker. I get 22 mpg city, and 24 mpg highway at 70 mph. The interior layout is very dated but functional. Its that 70s retro look. Front seating is a bit cramped and rear seating is really just for kids.

My 2003 Tracker - 2003 Chevrolet Tracker
By JIM - March 21 - 4:11 pmLucky to find 03 with less than 6k. I drive a lot, 250 to 400 miles a week. Use it in my job and get mileage allowance for it. Fun to drive. The optional 2.0 liter engine is very peppy over the base engine, even with the automatic trans, which I have grown to like. Easy to park, easy to turn in tight spots, turns super tight U-turns. Lucky to find and like white color for very sunny climate I am in. I did have to replace the rear axle bearrings at about 36k and a cost of about $1,300, ouch! Just out of standard warranty. Still wondering why the 2 door uses the same axle as the 4 door, and having less weight, should not of had a problem burning out, even carrying me, 280 lb guy! No other problems.

2004 Wildfire Red 4WD - 2004 Chevrolet Tracker
By Roger Engelken - February 24 - 1:40 pmI purchased the car for the 4WD given the harsh December and January we had here in Northern Colorado. It has worked admirably in the snow, and now is a joy to drive on once again dry roads. Ive had no issues with it, and getting replacement parts thus far has been very easy to do. After five coats of wax it has a good new shine once again. No missing the wildfire red color.

Great Deal - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker
By Kat - February 2 - 9:56 amMy husband and I downgraded from a Dodge Ram, and love our little Tracker. Its a plain model, but its 4WD capabilities are awesome. Since its so light, it actually outshines many larger 4WDs. Nothing fancy in ours to break such as power windows. CD player and radio work great. Have had to take off heat shield, bolts came undone and it rattled something terrible. We bought it for his commute to work, and the gas mileage is pretty decent! Turning radius is super small, and it zips around everywhere we need to go. I have no worries about our motor its the same as a geo prisim, and I know those are spectatular. While its not a luxury SUV by any means, it is fun, functional, and reliable!
