Dangerous vehicle - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker
By Todd Peterson - December 28 - 2:00 amTerrible on wet roads. Slides easily when attempting to stop. Not a safe vehicle to drive. Im trading it in out of concern for my familys safety. Unfortunately, in less than 2 years it has depreciated by 50%.

Better than a Rav4$ - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By Minipins - December 28 - 2:00 amNo Major Problems. V-6 is a must!! Has good power. Stereo needs improvement. Lots of interior noise once over 60mph. Cruise takes awhile to kick in once turned. Worth getting the LT Loaded.

2000 Chevy Tracker 4WD - 2000 Chevrolet Tracker
By VinceZ - December 27 - 2:00 amI got what I expected: an inexpessive SUV with all the options for running around town with some limited off-road. It held up well in three years without any major problems. The idler belt needed replacement every 12 months or the squeeling drove you crazy.A lot of road noise at over 40 MPH. The interior plastic finish marks and scratches easily. The exterior sheet metal dents easily. The 4WD performed excellently. Braking was fair. Wind causes it to shift in lanes. 4WD shifter vibrates constantly. Rear headrests block viewing out rear view mirror (removed for last 3-years). Can not shut off headlights when car is running.

Whats Not-So-Good About this Car - 1999 Chevrolet Tracker
By Dawnie - December 3 - 2:00 amHad no problems for 3 years, in the 4th year its almost coming apart. Ive had to replace the brakes, the computer, the ignition switch, the cruise-control/windshield wiper lever, and an internal ignition function - all after warranty, except for the computer. Ive had to get a front-end alignment twice. I might contribute all the problems with not keeping up with maintenance, but as I rely on my car so much, Im careful in that area. I am at 60,000 miles now, and my transmission is starting to get sluggish - every so often the car seems to struggle with shifting gears. At this point Im looking for a new car, because Im getting tired of all the problems.

Tick tick tick...... - 2000 Chevrolet Tracker
By Geoff R - November 1 - 2:00 amBought the vehicle for the four wheel drive feature to get into cottage in poor weather. For this it is great. I even pulled out a tree stump with it! However, getting to the cottage on the highway is another matter. I have never felt safe in the thing, especially in windy conditions and on wet or snowy roads. I have also had a tick in the engine since day one- normal according to the dealer- and a belt pulley that is very noisy , even after having it replaced once. Im happy that my three year lease term is up.

Big space in small package - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By GaryODS - October 16 - 2:00 amWe bought this rig to save us some fuel (also have a Dodge 1500). We bought the 2.0 L inline 4. While its a little weak, it makes up for it by being frugel. We broke this one in fast and loose crusing in the 75-85 MPH range from CA to Denver and back. At 80+ we were getting 25+ MPG Im 66" and this was the only mini SUV we found that had enough leg room for me (barely). We are satisified with it so far.

Inexpensive/Reliable 4x4 - 2000 Chevrolet Tracker
By Troutking - October 11 - 2:00 amIve owned my Tracker for almost 3 years now. No major problems to report. Good fuel mileage and does extremely well in snow. Just bought new "more aggressive" all-terrain tires (Original Tigerpaws are pretty wimpy). Plan on keeping it for a long time.

A Tracker to Keep! - 2003 Chevrolet Tracker
By bhuk - September 26 - 2:00 amI just recently purchased a 2003 Tracker complete with all the options and I honestly think I got my moneys worth! I was previously thinking of getting a Rav4 but with all the options that I wanted, I knew I would have to spend a few thousands more. With the Tracker, you get the performance of a V6 plus the convenience of all the options (i.e. power locks & windows, ABS, Cruise Control & alloy wheels).
