Overview & Reviews
The Silverado 2500HD now sports a new front fascia and revised side moldings and taillights. Top-of-the-line models also get power-folding heated mirrors with puddle lamps and turn signal indicators. On the inside, the Silverado offers numerous entertainment options including a Bose stereo system (with rear-seat controls on crew cab models), XM Satellite Radio and a rear-passenger DVD-based entertainment system (crew cab models only). The instrument panel and center console have been redesigned, and Chevrolet has added new seats, a more comprehensive driver information center and a dual-zone climate control system. On the hardware side, the standard 6.0-liter V8 gets electronic throttle control, as well as the ability to run exclusively on compressed natural gas (CNG) or a mix of CNG and gasoline.
- Powerful engine lineup, multiple drivetrain configurations, capable brakes, substantial towing and hauling capacities.
- Spotty build quality, mediocre interior materials.

Outstanding truck! - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By dsc362 - December 19 - 1:20 pmTHis truck has been a great vehicle. I have the Duramax Diesel / Allison tran, 4x4, CC, LT package. I added a powerchip programmer to it and I get around 18.5mpg, not pulling a trailer, around 13mpg pulling a loaded 18, but the power remains the same either way. You can not go wrong if you need a truck for driving around town or pulling a trailer around.

Get the Duramax! - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By RC - December 10 - 2:00 amThe Duramax diesel/ Allison tranny combo is great. Im getting 19-20 not towing & 12-13 pulling a 9500 lb trailer. The Duramax gives me power to spare. The diesel is the best thing out of GM in years. The ride is not bad considering the tow rating, which is better than Ford or Dodge.

Great truck - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By eric - October 24 - 6:30 pmI work this truck hard everyday. It has 94k miles on it and never let me down. Not bad on gas considering I pull a trailer daily. I get about 11MPG and 14 to 16MPG without a load. Never been in the shop for repairs. Still runs as strong as the day I bought it

Silverado Rules - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By Sharpie - September 11 - 4:13 pmGreat puller with the DuraMax and Allison trans. Traveled about 10,000 miles this last year (first year of ownership) with a 28 travel trailer got 10 MPG usually driving 65 or faster.

Duramax - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By sam - August 12 - 6:23 amGet the diesel/Allison combo! I have experienced 23-27 mpg cruising at 70 mph, 16-17 city. Even factoring in the higher price of diesel, the cost per mile has been less, and with unlimited power and towing ability. Only annoyances have been rattling steering column and body squeaks and rattles. Otherwise truck has been very reliable. Comfortable and with very good brakes and handling.

Great Truck - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By WYLDFYRE - July 29 - 9:40 pmThis truck is much more fun to drive and handles very well as compared to a 1500 model. You cannot over-work or over-haul this truck.

The Right Truck? - YES! - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By Kevin K - May 8 - 10:00 amThis is a great all around truck. Its good for hauling all the family, friends AND all their junk - in spacious comfort, unlike an SUV, where you get room for people OR cargo. Performance is incredible from 6.0L V8, real-world gas mileage varies between 12 mpg city - 15 mpg hiway. VERY roomy & comfortable. Very well built - NO quality or reliability issues during 1st year of ownership.

L O V E - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
By CvyLvr - April 6 - 2:00 amWell... Chevy did a good job! There is one thing that i really dont like though... who the hell thought of making an all aluminum diesel?? I dont know... The truck has okay power from the factory, but i recommend getting a Quadzilla power chip for it. You can turn the chip on and off with a switch on the dash!
