  I bought my truck with 66000 on it and put over 30000 on it in the first 14 months. I have backed off a little since then, but still average a good 20-25000 a year-14 months. As to be expected with the age and mileage of the truck, I do seem to break parts some times (mostly plastic crap used in the engine bay to connect hoses). I do a lot of off roading with it also and it holds up realy well. Does a great job towing. The only major replacement I had to do was the AC. That was almost a grand with a new compressor. Oh well, in the south you use AC pretty much year round to combat the high humidity. Only 7 more payments to go and it will be all mine! :-)

  since6000 miles theres been a clunking noise coming from the rear end. GM says its a design careristic (FLAW!!) Ive talk to a lot of other chev truck owners there having the same problums,I havent met one one person who is truly happy with there chev truck

  Liked the truck very much, but entirely too expensive to keep. New transmission ($1500), new antilock brake controller($1000). It appears to me that several failures were coming up. Most expensive vehicle, by far, I have ever owned, bar none. No reason GM can not build reliable vehicles, Toyota can! I drive only Toyota now, and have no plans to ever return to USA brand names!

  I give it 5 stars. I love my silverado LT. 4x4. Had it since 2001 had 32000 miles on it. Hes been good n reliable. Weather doesnt bother him either. Since 2001 the list has been long on repairs, has 210000 on it now. Nothing really major except I replaced the engine in 2015, tranny is still good. Besides that, just regular stuff, brakes exhaust, 02 sensors. The worst thing is rockers n cab corners. Repaired n painted in 2010. Body n frames in good shape. I will continue to repair n keep on the road. Love the new ones too. Love my CHEVY TRUCK!!!

  Z71 is very aggressive ride, dont dare to use a Z71 Chevy in the city area with a few pot-holes. Dont let anyone 300lbs sit on tailgate. This tailgate is the only weak spot for all Chevy trucks

  I bought this truck with 73,000 miles on it. It worked fine when I test drove it, but days later everything went downhill. The brakes need to be replaced and the tranny is now slipping and the power steering is OUT

  I have owned this truck since new and thoroughly regret buying the first year of a new model. Idk if my truck was built on a Friday or what, but it has been trouble laden since new. Fuel pump, ABS module, steering column shaft(never completely cured the rattling tho), seat belts, fuel pressure regulator, all during the factory warranty period. And since the warranty expired, multiple sets of brakes, spider gears in rear diff, no less than six sets of u-joints, transfer case flew apart internally(nobody had ever heard of that problem with this model of course). On the positive side it rides and handles like a car gets decent mileage and literally turns on a dime. Should have waited a few yrs

  This was the first new vehicle I ever purchased. I loved it. Rides like a car. Havent had too many problems with it. Front pinion seal on rearend was replaced at 20000 miles. Ive gone through 2 sets of rear brake pads and still on the original front ones. Have 55,000 miles on it. ABS light is starting to come on. Worst thing is gas mileage. I only get 11 mpg city.

  I too have had a problem with vibration in the stearing column. I purchased it used and took it to the local dealer (under warranty) who said they fixed it. To this day I still hear the vibration!!!!! )*^$#)+*!* I took it in again, and they said they would have to "really look into it" to find the problem. Hmmmm. Seems to be a common problem, but also a service departement flake-out.
