Overview & Reviews
The 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 gets a new V8 option (a 6.2-liter powerhouse with 403 horsepower), a new six-speed automatic transmission and a number of new options, including Bluetooth, XM traffic reporting and a back-up camera option that doesn't require the optional navigation system. Additionally, option packages are shuffled and an "XFE" (extra fuel economy) package for the crew cab debuts.
- Refined and quiet ride, solid fit and finish inside, seats are comfortable for long drives, comprehensive list of safety equipment.
- Larger turning circle than most rivals, mediocre interior storage and cupholders.

get one - 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By bryan - March 25 - 5:46 amI just bought this truck and I am very happy with it. I wanted a Dodge ram originally and all my peers said go with Chevy so I did and got a great deal and I actually am happy that I did I really enjoy this truck so far. Hopefully it lasts me 200,000 and then I will be Chevy for life.

tricky work truck - 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By James Nowacki - January 4 - 4:46 pmPower locks like to engage at any time. I always keep the keys in my pockets now, locked out a couple of times too many. Tire air pressure warning system likes to worry me. A small bump causes a warning signal. Work truck trim front storage armrest has no lid. If in a hurry to add a front seat passenger, everything falls into the back seats foot well. Multiple piece back bumper plastic is too weak to back up to a loading dock. Mine broke back in 2010, when my 2009 was about 1 year old. Its still broken; why fix a faulty designed junk part. It looks bad. Factory tires were to thin, I got 2 sidewall punctures in the first 60 days-WORK TRUCK? Replacement better tires work very well. I love the trailer pulling option mine has. Easy to drive with 20 foot flat bed behind carrying my mowing/ general use tractor.
