  • Simply Outstanding - 2001 Z71 Stepside - 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I bought my 2001 in 2006 because I really wanted a stepside. I found this Z71 4X4 and pulled the trigger. It had 89,000 on the odometer. Now it has 140,000. Ive driven it hard and it keeps coming back for more. One of the first things I added to it was a Flowmaster muffler with chrome tips. I get a thrill every time I fire it up.

Outstanding truck from the minute I purchased it. 5.3L v8 has tons of power and great fuel economy (15 around town and over 18 on highway). Interior is well designed with clear, easy to read guages. Mechanical and exterior has held up well. No trips to the service department yet.

  • Best Truck ever - 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Owned since new, has 175,000km. Not a single problem ever, only money spent has been on regular maintenance. Has the 4.8 V8 which as a ton of power for this small truck and gets about 12l/100km.

I bought my 2001 Pewter LS Silverado new and have 97,000 original miles on it. It has never been garage kept. I live in NJ and there is not a spot of rust on the truck and the paint still shines. I run it through the car wash 1 to 2 times a month and get the wax treatment that is included. I have only replaced the fuel pump and recently the thermostat besides the norm. I continually get offers for the truck and complements from other pickup owners. The truck has no rattles and runs great. the door speakers have just started buzzing, but Im sure its because of age and banging of the doors for 13 years. My only complaint has been tires. Im on my 3rd set of Bridgestones that are 16/60/ 275s

  • A great ride - 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Ive had the 1500 LT for over a year now and have 47,000 miles on it. I dont just let it sit around. The ride comfort is unbelievable! The seat can be adjusted to fit my 61" frame like a glove and my 52" mother in law doesnt want to give it back when she borrows it! Ive hauled loads of gravel, pulled shrubs out with a chain and put my three kids (with one car seat)in the back to go to church. A terrific all around vehicle that does what a truck should do but rides like luxury sedan. No problems at all in the last 14 months.

  • Great Truck - 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

This is my first pickup and it is more comfortable to drive than many cars that Ive owned. I have the 1500 LS with the 5.3L V8 and its performance, reliability and gas mileage for a vehicle this size is outstanding. I now have over 105,000 miles and havent done much more than change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles! I do a lot of hunting and it has never let me down in out-of-the-way places. A great vehicle.

  • GREAT TRUCK! 2001 Z71 327 (5.3) - 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
    By -

I bought this truck new. It has been a wonderful truck with great performance! I tested Dodge and Ford but the Chevy handled better and had more power. I get 16 miles to the gallon with 285 HP. This truck will get up and move. I owned a 2000 Z71 3 door with the same engine and since it did not have the limited slip rear axel it spun in the rain badly without 4x4 selected. My 2001 now has the limited slip. Get a Pewter colored truck. It never looks dirty until deer season!

  • Good Truck - 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I just traded mine off after 180k. The only repair I made during the four years was a front spindle. Other than that the truck performed well.

  • One of the best trucks out there - 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

My family has been driving it for the past year, and let me tell you, this truck could last forever. It currently has 278k miles on it with the original engine and transmission and still rides great!

  • this truck rocks! - 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

i like my truck the only thing i dont like is the base engine ive got a 4.3 i think v6 and it has no power it might be the tranny idk but i do know i love my truck!! easy and fun to drive! and thats what a 17 year old should drive! i would recommend it to any one. the only thing i would do to it is put some modifications in to the base model like a cd changer and stuff like that the sound is increadible and its easy to find things in the cab very ergonomic i think and i just LOVE the auto headlights!
