Overview & Reviews
Chevrolet has redesigned the decade-old C/K pickup and given the truck a new name. Major structural, power, braking and interior enhancements characterize the new Silverado. Styling is evolutionary rather than revolutionary, inside and out.

THE OLD STUD WITH A CROOKED STRIPE - 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Rlwise56 - January 4 - 3:54 amI give it 5 stars. I love my silverado LT. 4x4. Had it since 2001 had 32000 miles on it. Hes been good n reliable. Weather doesnt bother him either. Since 2001 the list has been long on repairs, has 210000 on it now. Nothing really major except I replaced the engine in 2015, tranny is still good. Besides that, just regular stuff, brakes exhaust, 02 sensors. The worst thing is rockers n cab corners. Repaired n painted in 2010. Body n frames in good shape. I will continue to repair n keep on the road. Love the new ones too. Love my CHEVY TRUCK!!!

Great Reliable Truck - 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By James - February 16 - 12:13 amA 1999 Chevy Silverado was my first vehicle i bought one with 220000 on it and the truck looked like crap, rust, mis match doors etc.. but regardless of the miles and complete lack of care it received from previous owners this truck has not needed a thing & runs like a dream even now at 320,000 with the original motor and transmission. Love this truck and it will love you back

Reliable and Comfortable Ride - 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By louigi - January 22 - 2:00 amGreat ride! This vehicle handles good in all conditions with a smooth, quiet ride. The suspension handles heavy loads and towing well. I am averaging around 13 mpg around town and near 20 mpg on the hwy. Truly a truck that rides like a luxury car.

Awesome Truck - 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Jonwiggle - October 6 - 10:00 amThis truck is amazing. I bought it used and i absolutly love it. I do a little off road and it is fun. This truck has absolutly nothing wrong with it. I own a 1999 with 26000 miles. It is the bets truck anyone can own. I recommend it to anyone looking for a pickup to haul and tow some light stuff while having fun off roading on the weekend.

Love it so much...Im buying another one - 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By DAHLLR - August 11 - 10:00 amThis is the hands down best truck I have ever owned. Chevrolet did a very good job "beefing" up their trucks to compete better. I have had no problems with this truck at all. Best of all...the 4.8 liter engine with automatic transmission gets incredible gas milage (even better than our Blazer with 4.3 liter). I would definately recommend this truck.

Buy a Chevy - 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By CHEVY MAN - August 16 - 5:36 amMy Chevy Z71 has over 170,000 miles on it, and runs as strong as anything Ive seen. I have the 5.3 Vortec v8, and this is such a strong and reliable motor. Not only does it have enough horses under the hood to pull my trailer and camper, but it gets the best gas mileage of any of the full- size trucks! The offroad capability is remarkable. I am an avid Offroader, and have Chevys, Dodges, and Toyotas, and Jeeps, and this Chevy is hands down, the best fullsize offroad vehicle around! Trust me, if you need a very tough, and reliable truck, buy a Chevy or GMC. They cannot be beat!

This thing has 95k on it? - 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Wingnutt - April 2 - 10:56 amI have had my "new" truck for almost a month now, and can find very little to complain about. Seeing as how Im a quality manager and my job it to pick nits, this says volumes about the vehicle. The 5.3 has great power for its size (but could use a tad more low end torque), espicially in a vehicle this heavy. The tranny does what its supposed to do when its supposed to, and the tow/haul mode makes life much easier on the transmission when hauling my boat. The gearing is right on for this application and provides good torque multiplication in the lower gears while maintaining a reasonable RPM for highway crusing.
