Overview & Reviews
The value-priced Work Truck package is now available on both regular and extended cabs. Base models pick up cruise control, a sound system, chrome rear bumper and chrome wheels. An automatic transmission is now standard on LS models, and the V6 is no longer an option in this trim. Other updates include new polished aluminum wheels and 265/70R16 tires with either black sidewalls or raised white lettering. The Quadrasteer option no longer requires the buyer to order trailering equipment. There's also a new tonneau cover, and inside, you'll find underseat storage. Finally, Chevrolet has deleted the Silverado's passenger-side outside door lock.
- Roomy extended-cab models, strong V8 engines, innovative features.
- Cheap interior materials, questionable build quality.

GO CHEVY - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By HAROLD USRY - June 1 - 10:00 amTHIS IS NOT THE FIRST CHEVY P/U I HAVE OWNED. IT IS MY EIGHT. PRIOR TO THAT I HAVE OWNED THREE FORDS. THERE IS REALLY NO COMPARISON. I HAVE NEVER REALLY UNDERSTOOD WHY CONSUMERS REPORT ALWAYS GIVES THE JAPANESE VEHICLES GOOD RATINGS, "MILES" AHEAD OF FORD OR CHEVY, AND DONT EVEN MENTION POOR DODGE. PERHAPS OWNERSHIP HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT?

V-8 Five Speed Fun Run - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By MMCM Chris - May 26 - 10:00 amGreat Ride, Yes, you can get a V-8 with a 5-speed in a short bed regular cab truck, with incentives, out the door for around 18K. The truck runs excellent. Sensitive when cold. The AC is comparable to a meat locker! Handles awesome. Needs bigger shoes in back.

My deam truck - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Jason Manus - April 1 - 1:53 amThis is the sixth Z71 I have owned since I was 16 years old, and there is no doubt that it is the best as far as quality and features goes. I have always been a part of the Chevy family and I love my truck. It has a 4.10 rear end that has allowed me to pull trailers in excess of 10,000 #s with regularity ( although the tow rating is 9200#s). I spend all day in my truck, as it is my office. And even though I drive it real hard and torture it, it keeps on ticking.

Z71 Rules the Road - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By wildman12 - January 12 - 10:00 amI bought a 2004 Silverado 1500 Crew Z71 in August. About 900 miles now, so still relatively new. Rides very smooth for a truck, with firm control in curves and turns - no dipping. Truck handles bumps well - no high bouncing or side to side jerking. Acceleration is there when needed, as I drive lightly and very seldom exceed engine speeds over 2500rpm. Fuel mileage averages 18-20 on interstate and 14-16 around town. Options = heavy duty trailering package, power adjustable drivers seat, Chromed Stainless assist steprails. I hit the sale at the right time, as this truck was $10,000 below MSRP, plus I received the exact truck I wanted.

best veh I have ever had - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Lew Wilson - October 24 - 10:00 amVery quiet on the road like driving a luxury car. Interior quality is great. Moved my daughter from michigan to florida last summer. Rented a U-haul tandam trailer in fla and pulled up and back. Veh pulled trailer like nothing behind and I averaged 18.3 mpg and didnt baby the veh.
