  • FUEL ECONOMY/TOWING - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I traded in a 2004 Nissan Titan for the redesigned Silverado. I decided on this truck due to the redesign & the gas mileage. WRONG MOVE!!! I have yet to get more than 17mpg & I have 20K miles on it. I do 97% highway driving. Ive taken it to the dealership at least once a month complaining about it, no solution. Ive contacted GM, no solution. Towing is terrible. I have a single axle 5X10 enclosed trailer & this Silverado was struggling!! And the trailer was empty! I got better mpg from my Titan with 190K miles & 2 cracked manifolds! As soon as Nissan upgrades the Titan Im running back!! Got consistent 18-19mpg from the Titan since I bought it new in 2004

  • Loved it at first....growing concerned - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I loved this truck at first. Great ride, fuel economy and interior comfort/features. Im starting to have several issues of major concern. My truck starts very hard in cold weather. Several revolutions of the engine before itll fire up. Getting worse. I also have a distinct coolant smell coming from the truck after its gotten warm. There is a vibration Ive noticed at freeway speeds in the drivetrain thats starting to drive me nuts. I also have to bring the truck into the dealer for 2 recalls. My windshield has cracked and I dont believe its anything that Ive done. GM specd the glass too thin to save weight??? The truck is a bit jerky to drive through various speeds. Not

  • Some disappointments - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I have owned Chevy trucks for a long time so it was a a given that my next truck would be a Chevy. Truck was brand new off the lot (10 miles). Drove fine and got great gas mileage. Put about 4k miles on it and took it in for recall. Every since then the best gas mileage has been around 19 all highway miles. Plus I keep getting a check engine light code P3444 and then P0306. Been to dealer twice. It stays clear for awhile then comes back. Put 6k on it since last dealer visit and yesterday the light came on which eventually causes a cylinder 6 misfire. This messes up the trans shift which causes the truck to jerk and down shift very hard.

  • Work truck. - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Bought this a month ago and just love it. I am very impressed by the power of the V6 engine. I dragged a 1600 pound empty trailer at 75 mph from Texas to California, loaded 2200 pounds (my gvw was about 9000 lbs. at this point) on it and dragged it back at 75mph bucking a strong headwind with no problems and getting 17.8 mpg roundtrip! That V6 has the power of an old school 350, and Im not sure when Id need the power of the 5.3 V8. Empty and driven conservatively around town Im getting 21mpg. Really like this truck! UPDATE: Still a great truck after 8 months, of course! Mileage is down a bit, probably because I dont drive quite as conservatively as when new.

  • 2014 Chevy Silverado - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Ive had my 2014 Silverado for 9 months now and have had a long list of issues.Numerous recalls. Had an engine misfire at 14500 miles. Had to replace number 8 cylinder coil which had a history of misfires. Driver side door actuator went out and had to be replaced. The day after I got the truck back (less than 24 hours later) the front passenger side door actuator went out (currently at dealership writing review while its being fixed). When punching the gas the 1st to 2nd gear shift is very rough. Transmission guy at dealership said thats normal which I dont believe. Currently ongoing issue. Really hope GM reads this and contacts me. After what I spent on truck I shouldnt be having issues.

  • 2014 Chevy Silverado Engine Misfire!!!!!!!!!! - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
    By -

Just took my 2014 Silverado in today because of an "Engine Misfire" I only have 6600 miles on it, and do not feel very happy at this time. I have learned from reading other forums that Im not the only who has this problem. There are some real horror stories going around that GM might not really have fix!!!. The problem started when I came to a stop. A real hard down shift hit first followed by the motor started to miss like it jumped timing. The check engine light started to blink constantly and the Track Light came on. I know we have GM customer service people on this forum so I would like to see what they have to say. However I dont want the standard responsive of take it to the dealer.

  • 2014 Chevy Silverado LT All-Star Edition Z/71 Double Cab-5.3 V-8 - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Got my new truck 2 weeks ago. I dont drive my personal vehicles very much and now I am a retired Deputy Sheriff with disabilities. I sold my 2004 Chevy 2500HD-LT-SWB-Extended Cab 4X4 with the 6-1/2 foot bed with the Duramax/Allison in February 2013. It only had 28,000 miles on it with almost 9 years of ownership. I like most things about my new pickup, except the Active Fuel Management system and poor fuel economy. It only has about 250 miles on it now. I used a SuperChips programmer on a 2006 Dodge Charger I was assigned to add power and deactivated the AFM system. The car ran better and got better MPGs, so I ordered one for my new Chevy truck. We will see how it works on the pickup.

  • Best Truck I have ever owned - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
    By -

This is the first brand new truck I have ever owned. My previous vehicle was a 2006 Dakota and this was a huge jump up. I picked the Chevrolet because I am a firm believer in their product and paid attention to all of the high ratings from various reports. The truck sits well and is very comfortable. I love the leather seats and the cabin is extremely quite. It rides very smooth and shifts well. The backseat offers a lot of space. I have two small kids and they have no problems with room.

  • Total dissapoitment - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

This is my very first brand new truck out a dealer with only 200 miles on it. I bought it 2 days ago and tomorrow is going back to the dealer shop. I didnt drove tested as I had before on pre-owned cars, I figured zero miles zero problems WRONG!! after I drove my beautiful truck around town and on the freeway I noticed a shake or vibration when idling, on speed and at a stop light. It can be feel even at the passenger seat and rear seats, it just SHAKES. I took it back to the dealer and 2 persons drove it and told me that there was definitely something wrong, that they also felt the bad idling. Now after reading all this reviews I think I will be stuck with a 43k dollars PU, not working...

  • It hurts to write this but.. - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I have a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab 4x4 Lt 5.3 v8 58" bed. I have owned nothing but chevrolet for the past 12 years, and have been nothing but pleased until now. I have owned this truck for three months now and have a total of 5200 miles on it. The problem started the night I drove it home and noticed a vibration, immediately called the dealer and told them of the problem, long story made short the truck still isnt fixed. Not only the vibration but water in the headlights, seat squeaks around every curb, dash rattles and paint is super thin. GM has really been a disappointment. Save your time and buy a better truck for the money.
