This Year's Model Updates:

The value-priced Work Truck package is now available on both regular and extended cabs. Base models pick up cruise control, a sound system, chrome rear bumper and chrome wheels. An automatic transmission is now standard on LS models, and the V6 is no longer an option in this trim. Other updates include new polished aluminum wheels and 265/70R16 tires with either black sidewalls or raised white lettering. The Quadrasteer option no longer requires the buyer to order trailering equipment. There's also a new tonneau cover, and inside, you'll find underseat storage. Finally, Chevrolet has deleted the Silverado's passenger-side outside door lock.

Pros:
  • Roomy extended-cab models, strong V8 engines, innovative features.
Cons:
  • Cheap interior materials, questionable build quality.

love the acceleration and reliability. Fuel economy is better than I thought too. One big problem is that the roof flexes when traveling at highway speeds. Also had noticeable wind noise from rear window that dealer had to fix. Wish the interior was more lively, like the white face Dodge dials or Fords new interior.

Im sory but Im not sure what Edmunds reviewers were thinking about! If your in the market for a well built truck, consider the Silverados good looks, standard features, resale history and actual selling price. In my opinion when one considers rebates, dealer incentives and quality of this truck how can you not love it?

This truck is so much more reliable than anything Ive driven before, which include 2 Ford Rangers, a Ford Expedition, and a Toyota pickup. I havent had one single problem or issue with it. It needs to be serviced every 3000 miles, but once I went 8,000 miles without an oil change (oops) but it can handle it. On occasion the brakes make noise but Im not the most conservative driver and I havent had new breaks installed since I bought it. One time I noticed something was squeaking on the inside cabin, again, this will happen with pretty much every truck, depending on how and where you drive it. Dont use this thing to commute, although it can handle it, it only gets 15-16 mpg on streets

This is the best truck i ever had. It is fast and useful. Because of the all wheel drive I can use it in the winter. I can also pull my boat with no problems.

The best truck I have owned. A very comfortable ride even on long drives. My wife likes the ride better then her 2002 Altima, now its always "Mind if I use the truck today?" Great power-5.3L V8. Gas Mileage is adequate for the motor size. I put a tonneau cover on, gas mileage improved about 4 mpg. Interior is a little noisy, road noise, sounds like a door or window is open a little, when they are not. Doors have a tendency to not close fully unless slammed. I put covers on the seats right away though, the cloth in a truck is going to take a beating. The color: Silver-Birch with the factory chrome wheels is awesome. Literaly bought this one off the showroom floor.

I love my truck. The silverado is the most reliable truck on the market hands down. There is nothing on my truck i wouldnt replace or change. I have added some minor things like a billet grill but thats about it.
