  • Moms Car - 2001 Chevrolet Prizm

I bought my Prizm in 2002 with 33,000 on it. Engine light came on once while under warranty. Regular maintenance. Other than some new tires and a couple of brake jobs, no great expense (knock on wood). I drive 22 round trip to work and have driven to DC and back to MA twice a year for past four years. Handles great on the highway and off. Great car.

  • Great 1st Car - 1998 Chevrolet Prizm

My little car has 160,000 miles & its going strong. A few things have gone awry such as I had to replace the starter shortly after I bought it (it had 105k miles when I got it in 2006), the front passenger door handle broke and so did the AC but its been a great first car. No engine problems at all. It does eat oil fast which is annoying to refill so often. I get anywhere from 31-34 mpg. Ive taken it on many long distance trips and its always a joy to drive.

  • Very Nice Practical Car. - 2002 Chevrolet Prizm

First of all, dont expect this car to be a Ferrari. I bought my Prizm in 2004 with 32000 miles on it, and it has served me well since then as it has 77k on it. The engine was PLENTY of power to get you merging onto that highway or to pass the annoying driver in the city or highway. As for the transmission I do have the 3-speed auto and I would have liked to have the 4-speed auto or 5-speed manual, considering the 3-speed is quite noisy on the highway, but that not too much of a problem for me, as I turn up the music a little bit. Additionally the 4-speed does a little better in gas. Im averaging 27mpg city and 32mpg highway (interstate 72mph) and 36mpg U.S highway (60mph).

  • Prizm Cuts Through Clutter - 2001 Chevrolet Prizm

This is a wonderful automobile because I get 42 mpg highway and a little city combined. The seats are a little uncomfortable, but my car has 113000 miles on it and it drives like a brand new car. Would deff recommend to a friend! I guess you could say im one of "the 9/10 ppl who would recommend Prizm to a friend". Prizm definitely "cuts through the clutter". In the mid 1990s I was "getting to know Geo" through the Geo Storm. Well, the Geo, or excuse me Chevrolet Prizm has my vote as one of the top cars of 2001. I hope I never smash my car. I am obsessed with Prizm. Prizm is good. I will buy a first generation Prizm (92 and older) second generation (93-97) Prizm also with my 01 Prizm

  • Amazing Car - 1999 Chevrolet Prizm

Bought it because its actually a Toyota Corolla, minimally re-skinned, but all Toyota mechanicals. I drove it until 2005, then gave it to my son, who still has it. Fluid changes, tires, one battery, one fairly recent set of rear brake pads, thats it, and its 10 year old this month, and still running like a top. Its still on its first muffler, for goodness sakes.

  • 148,000 and still rolling - 1998 Chevrolet Prizm
    By -

Bought my 1998 Chevy Prism in fall 99 and it is still rolling after all these miles and 10 plus years. I have taken care of it and it still runs great. I have done regular work on it, and every vehicle needs this. Battery, starter, alternator, tires, brakes, oil changes, etc. I have heard these things will push 200k and still roll on. We will see and I will run this until it dies.

  • Great and Reliable Car - 2002 Chevrolet Prizm

I got this car used in the summer of 2007. I never had any problems with it. This is my first car and only car. I was surprised to find out they dont make this car anymore. It is good on gas and reliable. It is also good for a small family.

  • A very good little car - 2001 Chevrolet Prizm

I bought this for $3000 over the summer to replace a Cavalier. Mileage is great, performance is pretty good considering it only has 125 hp. Put some decent tires on it and cornering is really fun. Stereo is not too shabby either. Only drawbacks that I have encountered are fading paint, the interior plastic around the door frame is peeling (that most have come from the GM part of the joint project), and no center armrest. Besides that you cant beat it. Like everyone else has already said, its just a Toyota with a Chevy emblem on it. A very easy way to save $2000 vs a Corolla, and even more on gas. This thing is bulletproof with proper maintenance. The perfect city car!

  • I love this car! - 1999 Chevrolet Prizm

I have owned this car for almost 8 years and have never had a more reliable car. I wish I could buy another one and keep it in storage for when this one goes! Seats can get somewhat uncomfortable on long rides and without any cruise control, but this car was built for reliability, not comfort. And my checkbook appreciates that! Words simply cant express how great this car has been for me.

  • Whats with the driver side window? - 1998 Chevrolet Prizm
    By -

I bought a 94 Prizm new and love it. So when my brother in law died, I bought his 98 Prizm. The 98 had power windows. The drivers side window broke, so my wife had it repaired, and it broke again. My paralegal has a 2000 Prizm with power windows, and her drivers side window broke as well. My 94 had manual windows, so no problem there. I love the car, but its hell at the drive through windows at the bank and McDonalds.
