  • Best car Ive ever owned - 2002 Chevrolet Prizm
    By -

I just purchased another Geo Prism last week. I had a 1996 Geo Prism and it went 80,512 miles and I only had to change the oil and purchased a set of tires. There was nothing wrong with the car when I sold it. They just made an offer for the car when combined with the 750.00 dealers rebate and GMs 3,000.00 rebate and my 3,151.00 GM card rebate...well it was just to good to pass up. If the 2002 prism is as good as the 1996....well Ill be a happy camper until 2008 when I wish they were still building them. Sam It was by far the most reliable car Ive ever owned. The

The car is adequate. It doesnt have a lot of kick when you accelerate...a lot of cabin noise. The gas mileage is great!

  • Reliability and econonmy rules. - 2002 Chevrolet Prizm

As a long time owner of a Toyota Corrola (12 years, 180,000 miles), with amazing reliability (well, theres the alternator...)I wouldnt buy anything else -- except a Corrola clone Prizm. With current rebates (as of late May 2002) of 3K, an AMAZING bargain, for those who just want a good solid, comfortable inexpensive and highly reliable economy car. A great car for those who dont buy a car as an extension of their personality or intimate body parts, but to get places without hassle.

I have about 21,000 miles on this vehicle and it still drives like it was brand new. Have had absolutely no problems not so much as a hick-up. Only wish that I had purchased a 4 speed automatic instead of 3 speed. Overall, I am very satisfied.

I have but 2 comment this vehicle is for people who are not endowed with height or overly big because there is very little space between the two front seat occupants. This vehicle also lacks any type of pick-up and at times feels that there are 2 squirrels on a treadmill underneath the front hood.

  • My Prizm rides well! - 1999 Chevrolet Prizm

I bought this car in March of 2000, and love the style, the way it handles, and the gas mileage is great! However, it could be more comfortable, the seats are not at all comfortable, and there could be more leg room in the back seat, and it could take dings a little better too. Overall, its a great car!

  • GM bumper to bumper is a joke - 2002 Chevrolet Prizm

I have a five day old Prism. The battery has a clear eye (low acid level) GM refuses to replace this battery unless I have a cranking problem. Delco battery is shocked that the battery is not being replaced. Delcos battery imfo from the internet states that a clear or yellow battery eye do not recharge, replace battery. This is GMs idea of bumper to bumper coverage, what a disgrace. Bill Heard Chevrolet is going to change this battery because they want to do the right thing. My local dealer refused to change the battery, because GM would not pay them. Buyer beware of GM and their coverage.

  • Exception to the Rule? - 1998 Chevrolet Prizm
    By -

My prizm is a one owner, used, 1998 Geo Prizm with 34K miles from a Toyota Dealer. The car had been previously leased so the presumption is that it was well maintained because of lease constraints. The car promptly lost seven quarts of oil in 2000 miles without burning any smoke. The dealer says the oil rings are collapsed. The dealer told me the problem had been traced back to one of two factories that produced engines for the Geo Prizm. The cross-hatching in the cynlinder walls allegedly was faulty and caused premature failure to the rings. When I called Toyota they said no technical service bulletins had been issued and my problem may not be covered. I will not buy a toyota again.

  • Great Reliable Car - 1999 Chevrolet Prizm

I bought this car new in 99. Mine has a 5 speed manual and I have had no maintenance problems. All I do is change the oil every 3K miles and put in gas. The milage is so good I hardly use much gas. It easily gets over 30 miles to the gallon. On a long highway trip, I get close to 40 mpg.

  • Comfortability - 2000 Chevrolet Prizm

Needs more comfortable seats and locking glove compartment.
