Overview & Reviews
Chevy's personal-luxury coupe receives only minor changes for 2002. LATCH child safety-seat anchors, dual-zone air conditioning and three-point seatbelts for rear passengers are now standard on all models. Bright Red and Medium Green Pearl replace Torch Red and Dark Jade Green as exterior color options.
- Large interior, low sticker price, strong V6 in SS models.
- Front-wheel-drive platform, no passenger side-impact airbag, cheap interior bits.

Love the car but too many problems - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By dalesrfan - July 29 - 11:33 pmI love my monte ss however there has been a lot of problems with wiring flickering lights, paint issues after only having the car for 3 years the paint was bubbling and now just peeling off. Gm told me they would do nothing, also catalytic converter problems and most recent oil pan completely rotted out.

yellow is HOT - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By lettuce47 - February 18 - 10:00 amWas the first yellow Monte in Pa. Love the car and the performance off the line for a V-6. Sleek body design, and the gas mileage is outstanding. Have 22k on Monte now, with absolutely no problems. Love this car...

still styling and smiling - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By stillrollin - January 9 - 7:36 pmI have a Dale Earnhardt edition and have been pleased. 95k miles and still goin. other than routine maint.and cat.converter.Recently had to change the t-stat,but after 94k, no problem. Havent changed brakes or even wiper blades, dont know whats up with that, crazy. Peppy and still stops on a dime. I really dont drive aggressively. But nice to know I could when I need to. My girl loves the seat warmer. When shes washed and polished, well its Black!More than I expected.

Disappointed - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Collins - December 26 - 11:00 pmBeautiful, fun car to drive. Very disappointed in the resale value. Have had catalytic converter replaced (under warranty), PassLock security system failed, BCM unit went bad, power steering and brakes needed replaced, cooling system problems, and ignition system had to be replaced, all within the first 60,000 miles. Now the windshield fogs up, no cause detected by 2 certified mechanics. Fuel mileage is better than normal with 26 city, 35 highway.

Great Car - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By spinnell - December 12 - 10:00 amI have had a wonderful experience with this car. Excellent mileage, gets 29.9 on HWY, lots of power, and the comfort is beyond belief. Was never a fan of big cars but the comfort is well worth it. A lot of bang at a good price.

Its no Z34 - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Chevyguy - August 28 - 7:10 pmI had to replace my 1994 Z34 and this was the closest thing Chevy had. Reliability has been good, performance is alright, handles good. It is an adequate replacement, but it is no Z34. I would recommend to someone that loved their Z34.
