Overview & Reviews
Chevy's personal-luxury coupe receives only minor changes for 2002. LATCH child safety-seat anchors, dual-zone air conditioning and three-point seatbelts for rear passengers are now standard on all models. Bright Red and Medium Green Pearl replace Torch Red and Dark Jade Green as exterior color options.
- Large interior, low sticker price, strong V6 in SS models.
- Front-wheel-drive platform, no passenger side-impact airbag, cheap interior bits.

Great Car!! - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By JG In Alabama - January 14 - 10:00 amWhat a Great Car for the money. My SS is fully loaded. It handles exceptional and has great power. Test drove it and was doing 70 without realizing it. Last car in the world I though I would buy. Tested it on a whim and now I own one. It gets great mileage for a six cylinder. I HIGHLY reccomend this vehicle. It is more than worth the low price you can pick it up for.

SS is a great car! - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Mark s. - November 14 - 2:00 amI have owned my 2002 SS for 16 months and have really enjoyed the car. Chevrolet did a great job designing this very distintive car that it not like many others. The ride is great and all controls are easy to use. The handling is great and the V6 feels like a V8. Long trips are a breeze with the very comfortable leather bucket seats.

By lmilone - October 20 - 10:00 amThe SS Monte Carlo is superior all the way around. The handling, styling, comfort and performance is awesome. When you step on the accelerator you go without any hesitation and gas mileage is surprisingly good.

Just Purchased Monte Carlo - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Dan the man - August 29 - 10:00 amI was worried purchasing my first Chevy product since the early 70s & 80s. I have been very happy with my past Toyota and Honda purchases. Had no luck with Ford (Forever repairing Daily). But I use to enjoy my old GM products in my youth, so I gave Chevy another chance. So far I am really happy with the monte carlo. I like the styling and handling. I even have my daughters child seat in the back, and that has been easier than I expected. It may still be too early to tell, with 18,000 miles but so far so good. Lets hope I dont get disappointed, I need a reliable car and if this doesnt work out, its back to Toyota for good.

Great cars for the money. - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By MitchK - July 27 - 10:00 amI myself own a 95 monte carlo z34. I love the car, although ride quality and handling are lacking. I somehow got my parents to purhcase a new monte carlo ss, more specifically a 2002 Dale E. Edition SS. Styling is very nice; these cars are real head turners(especially w/ the high sport package). The handling is GREAT for a big car, not to mention the ride quality is fantastic. Overall quality is much better than that of the grand prix GTP we test drove. I conclude that the 2000-on montes are the best generation ever, and are a heck of a car for the money. A good mix of sportiness and practicality.

Big coupe - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By phant2000 - November 12 - 2:00 amLots of room inside for a sporty coupe. Back seat is more than ample for 2 full sized adults. The 200 horsepower 3.8 liter V6 provides brisk take-offs and excellent passing. It gets great mileage for a big V6. Lots of features like auto-dimming rearveiw, heated side mirrors, auxilliary 12V power outlet, dual zone heat and a/c. power everything

Still love it after all these years. - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By jackw972 - October 23 - 12:58 pmI got my Monte Carlo LS brand new in 02. It had 48 miles on it, and shined like a new Penny. The car now has 140,000 miles on it. Ive had little to no problems with the car till it had 100,000 miles on it. The problems came in waves. When I had trouble, it wasnt just one thing, it would be 2 or 3 things go bad about the same time. Id get them fixed, and it would be fine for a while. At this point, the BCM went bad. Im still working with that problem. It has 140K, it aint perfect. I still like it, and still like driving it. Im going to run the wheels off of it.
