Overview & Reviews
Based on the 2004 Chevy Malibu, the Malibu Maxx is an all-new vehicle. A cross between a sedan and a wagon, it's designed to give midsize car buyers a little more space so that they don't have to resort to an SUV.
- Hatchback configuration makes for easy loading, spacious interior with adjustable rear seats, plenty of safety and convenience features, innovative remote start feature, standard V6.
- Lackluster interior, less cargo space than true wagons or SUVs.

Great ride - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
By Colorado Springs - June 18 - 3:56 amMy family just completed a 900 mile round trip from Colorado Springs to New Mexico. The V6 Maxx averaged 70 mph and achieved 35.6 mpg going and 33.6 coming back. This trip included mountain driving. XM satellite worked great out in the mountains. I love this car. I would buy another.

Bring it Back - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
By daisydal14 - May 3 - 2:42 pmBought this car new and only have 93,000 miles on it. I have been hit once in the left rear quarter panel and had it repaired back to new! I was getting 37mpg on the freeway for the first few yeas but I am still getting 35mpg today. In town is not so great. I absolutely love this car! I really enjoy driving it either around town or on the freeway. Still has great acceleration. Have only replaced thermostat, serpentine belt and brakes and a spring. Muffler has a small hole in it which is not surprising - in Wisconsin. Everything still works (knock on wood). The remote fob broke but I am getting it fixed at a jewelers as it needs to be soldered.

Arizona review of Malibu Maxx - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
By Frank S. - April 15 - 10:00 amNo problems to report, no quality issues. Finding the V6 has plenty of power. Ride and handling are great for a car in this price range.

Finally...wow - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
By DMaxx - March 9 - 10:00 amWe researched and read for almost 3 months, trying to find a CAR that could do what our S-10 did but be able to haul 4 REAL people when not hauling cargo. Hello Maxx! Leather, automatic climate controls, remote start, adjustable pedals. I feel like a million bucks when Im driving this car. I, for one, like the styling of the Maxx, its just perfect. Im still trying to get use to a car whos front hood is visible when driving but I like the beefy look of it and, in my humble opinion, the back end is just plain sexy. Four big doors for easy entry/exit, the sliding rear seats and very appreciated center rear arm rest are fantastic.

Even used, a great car - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
By Maxx man - March 7 - 1:46 amWe bought the 2004 Maxx with about 34,000 miles and actually have put less than average mileage since. However, the car continues to please with excellent performance, amazing mileage for a 6 cyl engine and good interior ergonomics. The front end design is the primary downside; the new Chevy front end styling (see 2008 Malibu) would really set this car off. Ill be in need of a new car soon (this ones my wifes) so I wish Chevy would wise up and produce the Maxx for the current Malibu lineup.

Happy to the Maxx - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
By warygent - January 31 - 10:00 amGot the loaded LT Maxx. I feel the car gives much more value for the money than anything alse in the class both in features and performance. The styling wont turn any heads but the interior is top notch and the flexibility great. The car came with no defects and the dealership was great in getting the Onstar and XM radio set up.

Malibu Maxx - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
By Sharon Roush - December 7 - 10:00 amIt took a lot for me to convince my husband to get a car vs. another SUV or truck. But when he got into this car, he loved it and still does. So much better on gas mileage and very fun to drive.
