  • Didnt Last Well - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx

Bought with 42k miles. Right away, started to have trouble starting and the headlights wobble causing a flicker effect (Ive noticed this on many other Malibu Ive seen at night). Both things were fixed, light problem started again soon after. Drivers door doesnt always stay open, has shut on my leg many times! Around 50k started to shudder at moderate speeds and when braking. At around 60k CD player started to not accept and/or not spit out CDs. The best part: 60k, 5 year old car, a pin shears off, the timing chain snaps, and $4000+ worth of engine damage- almost the bluebook of the car!!! Chevy covered some of the repair costs, but not enough in my opinion- it was a manufacturing defect.

I looked for a truly new and clean look and found it in the Malibu Maxx. Coupled with good mileage, comfort, and features makes this American car a great value. The V6 power plant is very spicey and makes the Malibu Maxx fun to drive. It is right up there with the Imports in all areas.

  • Thrilled to the Maxx! - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx

I will have to say I am a huge truck guy, but when I got a job in outside sales it was time to lay the truck to rest. The gas mileage on this car is great, average @ 26 mpg. The ride is very good and the 200 hp v6 is amazing. The first week I after I bought it we had to make a trip to Detroit about 1000 miles round trip. I am 61 and my father in law is 63 and we both had plenty of room in the front seats not to mention my sleepy wife and daughter in the back was very comfortable also.

  • Solid Car, Great Price! - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx

This car is built very solidly, much better than the Malibu it replaces. Nice touches in the center console and the power adjustable pedals and the telescoping steering wheel are nice features on a car in this price range. Good power from the 200 horse V6, seemless shifting automatic, and commendable handling. Biggest drawback is the cloth interior, which is comfortable, but cheap looking. Like most GM products, I got a big discount, and a sweet lease deal of under $200/mo. for a nicely equipped model.

  • Its like riding in a limo - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx

Sometimes my 6yr. old and I sit in the back of our Maxx with the seats fully stretched and watch movies while my wife becomes the limo driver. The skylight in the back really adds to the overall ambience. Its never been so much fun being a passenger. I recommend this car wholeheartedly.

  • Malibu Maxximum Repairs Required - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx

This vehicle is a fair amount of fun to drive, with plenty of power and good fuel economy. The hatch is convenient, and the backseat is very roomy. To date, we have had our vehicle in for numerous repairs to the front end. Poor quality materials used have resulted in replacing the rotors more than once. The entire steering column had to be replaced a few days after purchase. Last week, a part in the steering column had to be replaced at a whopping $500.00! The control arm on the front end, and the struts also went out, among other repairs!

  • Love my Maxx - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx

I have logged about 9000 miles on my Malibu Maxx. Excellent performance, great economy, and a fun car to drive. I previously drove a Grand Marquis Mercury. This Malibu Maxx is just as comfortable as my Mercury was, and a whole lot more fun! If youre looking for a stylish, economical, great performing car, I would suggest you test drive one.

Well pleased with car, but still think that seats are lackluster in appearnce. GM Division could really have done better. Rear sunroof shade can only be called what it is - cheap plastic that doesnt work. Center console storage needs a stronger hinge to prevent wobble when opening and closing. Head restraints (for some reason) tilt forward at a strange angle. I might try turning them around! Rearview mirror hard to flip for bright lights.

  • LOVE IT - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx

Just purchased the LT Maxx a couple of weeks ago. Love the comfort, DVD system, dual sun/moon roofs, leather interior, automatic lights, etc. I think that Ive made a great choice. You get a luxury feeling without having to purchase a luxury car. My husband and five year old loves it also. Lots of bang for the buck!
