Based on the 2004 Chevy Malibu, the Malibu Maxx is an all-new vehicle. A cross between a sedan and a wagon, it's designed to give midsize car buyers a little more space so that they don't have to resort to an SUV.
- Hatchback configuration makes for easy loading, spacious interior with adjustable rear seats, plenty of safety and convenience features, innovative remote start feature, standard V6.

By lichtenfels - December 14 - 2:00 amI like the vehicle, took it for 1st ride today and found the headrest bothers me, I must hold my head at an unnatural angle. Drivers seat hard to get adjusted and not sure I like the limited manuerability of the steering wheel. Buick had more up & down positions avail. Other than those things, handles great and nice ride. Like the idea of tilting back seats & adj. offered in back.

By oldntired1950 - March 26 - 2:00 amIve only had the Maxx for a couple of weeks, but so far its lived up to every expectation. The interior is comfortable and well thought out. The seat, steering and pedal adjustments mean that anyone, including my 49" wife can find a comfortable position. The engine has plenty of power and the brakes are great. Even the electric steering that I had heard such terrible things about provides ease in parking and decent feel on the highway. I love the bells and whistles like the automatic climate control, automatic light control, the XM radio and OnStar. I think that the General has finally given us a winner!

By Robert Lamason - February 9 - 11:23 amSo far the Malibu Max has been a good car to drive. It seems to have quite a bit of get up and go. The rear view is not so great, but it will do. The car rides good for a car. Priced right with the discounts and easy to deal with the dealership in my case as I will not hassel over price and I did not have to, which is one very good reason I liked the deal!!! Hope the car holds up well as I have not purchase a new car for many years.

By Craigster45 - February 1 - 10:00 amDealer never checked the car. Took delivery in the rain (delear made sure of that)drove home, all 4 rotors warped. They wouldnt replace even though brand new. The Area Rep would only cut them. Went back, waited 4 hours. Sun came out, 2 pass. doors didnt get enough paint, you could see sheet metal. Chips in window.

By Rose - October 16 - 3:33 amBought this car with 7,000 miles on it as a dealer demo. Love the style, has tons of space and great gas mileage for a large sedan (34 highway, 27 city). There was a recall on the steering, but was fixed. I have 68,000 miles on it and the suspension is now noisy. Ive had the brakes redone, but I drive a lot of hills. I would buy another, but GM is not making the hatchback Maxx model any longer.

Longevity is Not its Strong Suit - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
By Maxx02360 - December 1 - 3:00 pmI liked the car when I first purchased it; see my review in 12/04. But the car definitely has some quality issues. At 80,000 miles, I have replaced the steering column twice. Yes, the steering column! When it goes, it is almost dangerous to drive. Ive also replaced the front bearings, the intake manifold, and the DVD system. The remote starter doesnt work anymore. Currently, my CDs are stuck in the audio system and wont play or eject. I took very good care of this car with the plan of giving it to my daughter, and while it still looks good, and my daughter loves driving it, it unfortunately has real quality issues.

Meh - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
By IndyBuyer - August 5 - 10:00 amI bought this car off the lot back in 05. I take good care of my car and my wife occasionally drives it on the highway only. I have had the back seat levers break, my trunk release works only when it feels like it - which is great if you go to the grocery store and it decides not to work. The drivers side seat frame broke at 2 welds and is now a rocking chair ($517.97 for the part alone - no tax or installation) and the drivers side door lock only locks and unlocks manually. I had to purchase new key chain units as well due to the 2 that came with the car breaking when new batteries had to be installed. DVD player stopped working and car always pulls to the left despite 4 alignments.

By Saler - June 2 - 10:00 amJust returned from a 4,000 mile vacation in this car. Gas mileage was better than expected-- especially in the hilly terrain of Pennsylvania and Virginia-- 36 MPG! Plenty of pick-up climbing hills and passing. Still cannot believe all the adjustments on this vehicle. I can customize almost everything to my own liking. Comfortable long drive, with drivers lumbar support and adjustable seats. Love the features on the steering wheel; can maneuver everything with your thumbs without taking eyes off the road.Could fit a lot of cargo and still be able to see through back window.

Great car for teens - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
By JwSugar - May 29 - 9:23 amThis is a great car to carry things as well as people with good fuel economy. It has great pick up and can pass with ease. I drive 120 miles to work everyday and I never feel like Im in a small car.
