  • Lumina goes on and on and... - 1992 Chevrolet Lumina
    By -

I bought my Lumina in 1992. It had 13,000 miles on it. It now has 230,000 miles, beleive it or not. It has been a wonderful little car. Even today, it runs like a top. It constantly amazes me at how dependable this car has been. I drive it every day. It still looks pretty good. My original plan was to drive it for a year or two, but it just keeps going and going and going. I am now in the market for another one, but will hold on to this little 1992. If any one happens to be looking at Luminas, I could never sing their praises enough. This is one car that has met all my expectations.

Overall I am satisfied with my lumina with the exception of two items.First at just over 36000 miles I had an expensive repair due to a leaking manifold gasket losing antifreeze and was told this is fairly common on Luminas.Secondly, when the air conditioner is on the acceleration is poor and the transmission tends to be sloppy.

  • Works great for me - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina
    By -

I bought it more than 4 years ago. No major repairs so far. Smoth ride, good acceleration. Very roomy, big trank. Transmission is very quiet and smoth. I paid $4000 for it and it paid back to the last penny. Fuel economy is poor, but I was told that something should be fixed, but gas is relatively chip, so who cares... Thinking about buying another Chevy vechicle.

  • Great Car! - 1992 Chevrolet Lumina

I really like this car. My mom bought it in 1999 with around 80,000 miles on it. It now has over 120,000 and still runs like a dream. She gave the car to me after I turned 16 and Im always testing the car to see what its up to. Have been surprised numerous times. No major problems except for brake problems. The emergency brake also sticks sometimes. A/C and heating systems still are wonderful....never a problem. Buy this car.

  • LTZ - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina

I bought my LTZ about 2.5 yrs ago with 54k on it. Im impress with the performance and the problem free 3.8 ltr is wonderful. It has a great sound when pushed hard. I have driven this car for 8 hrs straight and I had no back problems. The dual zone climate control is a must with a wife who gets cold easy. Would prefer a rear folding seat. The lthr is very soft and the seats are like a lazyboy. The only complaint is with the interior plasic. The door panels and dash has a nice texture, however the plastic around the insrument cluster and climate and radio is Fisher Price cheap. Other than that I love the car and plan to keep it for a very long time

Our experience with this car has been outstanding. We purchased the car used in 2000 in like new condition and have not put a penny into maintenance aside from oil canges since. This vehicle has been outstanding in terms of its reliability. The car is very well powered yet has reasonable fuel economy for a car of this size.

  • Good StuFF! - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina

It moves, dont underestimate the 3.1 V6! EXTREMELLY comfortable. Interior material/looks on the cheap side. Olds/Pontiac look better (Alero/Grand Prix). Its no Bimmer, but it does what it whas desigend to do well. Very capable car, and lots of stuff for your $$$

  • Great Looks & Performance- Unreliable - 1992 Chevrolet Lumina
    By -

Great looks, excellent performance, adequate economy. Expensive repairs, faulty engine design, poor factory paint job, cheap flaking decals. Fast, powerful, and beautiful but totally unrelaible.

  • NO MORE CHEVYs - 1992 Chevrolet Lumina
    By -

I will never, ever buy chevy/gmc in life!! Its a pretty car, but the bonus stop after that. I bought the car used in early july and by late july I needed a new engine. the blinkers never worked correctly for me and the steering column tends to smoke when you attempt to use them. Just got a new altenator, which cost entirely too much for the car. ANY repair for this car will be two time as much compared to any other domestic vehicle because of the way the engine was designed for the car. Even autobody shops hate to see this car coming! Oh and it doesnt even have cup holders.
