One of the best cars I have owned - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
By MarkNYC - May 19 - 2:00 amNo problems in 5 years and 84,000 miles. The best thing about it is the 3.8 L V6 engine and the incredibly reliable performance. Excellent tire wear.

Good all-around - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By mikeal1913 - May 15 - 2:00 amLuminas have been very good to me. This is a dependable, low maintenance cost car. Both Luminas Ive owned have gotten great gas mileage considering their size. My 4 cyl. Lumina got about 30 and this 6 cyl. gets 24. Powerful, smooth ride, good looks.

Reliability Plus! - 1996 Chevrolet Lumina
By maxpar98 - May 10 - 2:00 amI have now owned this car for 120,000 miles and only replaced a $70.00 transmission sensor other than routine maintenance items. Car now has 152,000 miles and has no problems. Amazingly these cars are cheap to buy.

Great First Car - 1992 Chevrolet Lumina
By tec - May 8 - 2:00 am150,000 miles and going strong. Has carried me through snow storms, getting married, having our first kid. Every time I get behind the wheel and drive on the hiway it feels like a race horse wanting to go faster and faster. Its low to the ground, wide wheel base makes it a joy to drive. The speedometer says up to 85mph , but who are they kidding.

One of the Best - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By IceHouse - May 7 - 2:00 amThis is a very low-maintenance vehicle with a nice ride - great traction- control system and many nice features. I have had almost no problems with the vehicle and only wish they were still making them.

GREAT CAR-GREATER PRICE! - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
By Will2 - May 7 - 2:00 amBought the car used with 30K miles on it. Since, weve put 65K miles with very few repairs. The relaibility is incredile, and the ride is not bad, although the seats vould be more comfortable. The ride, especially on the highway is smooth and very quiet. Plenty of confort creatures, even with the base model. This car was a steal-Id buy another one, if I could find one with low miles.

Twas a Sleeper - 1995 Chevrolet Lumina
By Deke - May 5 - 2:00 amConsidering the price (under 16G) when new, this one was a sleeper. Surprisingly tight, smooth ride, although that has deteriorated somewhat as tires have worn. There have been repairs, including transmission pan leak, and its worthwhile keeping current with various filter replacements. Engines a willing worker, but not very refined. Contrary to Consumers Reports review, the handling with Goodrich tires is sharp and precise for a car its size.

Best Car Ive ever owned - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
By dan-o the ritalinkid - May 5 - 2:00 amThe Lumina kept myself and my family safe from serious injury in a recent accident. When a minivan made a turn directly in my path not more than aprox. 50ft away while I was traveling at approx 40mph the impact was unavoidable. The mini van had 12 passengers, 4 more than its limit. The Luminas front impacted the passenger side of the van just between front and rear doors. Not only did myself and my family escape serious injury but the Lumina was still running and the radiator still held its coolant. Sorry to say 10 of the 12 van pasengers were injured. The Lumina had an excellent history of reliability since I owned it.
