Lumina LTZ is a best buy - 1999 Chevrolet Lumina
By GM Loyal Customer - August 18 - 2:00 amI bought this car for $200 under invoice with 6 miles on the odometer and have enjoyed every mile I put on it since. This car outperforms many cars priced $10K higher... if people didnt have to compensate for their shortcomings with a "name-brand" car, they would save a lot of money! When looking to buy a new car, I researched engines and found that the 3.8 L V6 was highly thought of and I now know why - it is a blast to drive and very reliable. This car has made me a GM customer for life.

So dependable!! - 1994 Chevrolet Lumina
By anntho - August 15 - 2:00 amWe bought this car used in 99 with 60,000 miles. We now have 160,000 miles and it has been incredibly dependant. What the 94 Lumina lacks in style it makes up for in dependability. We have only made typical upkeep trips to the shop (battery, new brake pads once, oil changes etc). We have been on 10+ trips longer than 1000 miles and the car has been excellent in comfort and reliability. We are ready for a new car, but I hate the idea of trading this one in.

One of my best used cars!! - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
By Grewal - August 7 - 2:00 amI bought this car in 2003 with 124000 miles on it. With its big and powerful engine, I have driven it more than 10,000 miles in less than 3 months...runs excellent..no problems at all.

dependable car - 1992 Chevrolet Lumina
By dtorma - July 31 - 2:00 amI bought this car from a neighbor who was reluctant to sell it because she liked it so much. Its been very reliable as a second family vehicle with very few repairs needed. I wish they made more like this one... I also have a friend with one of these cars in a 93 with many more miles and a happy owner.

Very nice ride - 1999 Chevrolet Lumina
By Dimas - July 28 - 2:00 amI bought this car about a year ago and put another 10k miles on it. After i bought it i had to replace the Intake Manifold, which cost me $300, other than that i did not repair ANYTHING. The car feels very safe. It is heavy, roomy and powerful. Great for long trips. Gas milage could be better. And the V6 is kind of useless since it only puts out 160hp. I dont understand why my friend has a 4 cyl. 2003 Altima and has more hp than i do. Ridiculous. I like my car. I hope to drive it for a long time.

Problems keep appearing... - 1995 Chevrolet Lumina
By KingTofu - July 25 - 2:00 amWell, Ive changed my mind on this vehicle. Im now at 140,000 miles and Ive had to replace another fuel injector which cost another $300. The mechanic said that the 4 other injectors will probably short out in a year or so. Great. Also, I just had to pay $150 to get my left turn signal fixed. I havnt been impressed with the build quality. Cheap materials are used throughout the whole car. I cant recomend this vehicle, Im getting rid of it as soon as I can.

Lumina LS - 1995 Chevrolet Lumina
By Dawn E - July 21 - 2:00 amI bought the car with 75000 miles. At 82000 miles, the transmission went out. At 90000, the head gasket went out. It warped my heads due to the block being iron and the heads being aluminum. I felt kinda bad for those people who had the 3.4L engine those head gasket kits were NATIONALLY BACK ORDERED. Must have been a very bad winter on a not-so-good engine. Now, at 93000, I noticed transmission fluid leaking. It bothers me that I still owe more than its worth and that Ive put over $1300 into it the two years Ive owned it. If I were you, I wouldnt buy one.

Death (untimely) of a 1996 Lumina - 1996 Chevrolet Lumina
By Lorne Greene - July 14 - 2:00 amRoutine maintenance was fine - nothing major just brakes, oil changes, nor =mal service. Car was highway driven and not punished. At 85,000 it needed a new head gasket and at 110,000 blew two connecting rods at 60 MPH. No warning on either - just failure. Liked the car but will never buy another one. My 1990 Toyota Camry just went past 225,000 miles and all it ever requires is rountine maintenance, oil changes an occasional set of brakes and one clutch (155,000 miles).
