Little Red - 1990 Chevrolet Lumina
By kj2711 - July 23 - 2:00 amI bought this car in 96 I believe. It had 190,000 miles on it. Just turned 244,800+ miles this week and still going just not as strong as she used to. Gets about 19-20 MPG around town and 27-29 MPG on the highway. No major problems until about 2 years ago but everything that had to be replaced since then was just age. Within the last 2-3 years, Ive replaced the heater core, fuel pump, radiator, rack & pinion, power steering pump and water pump. Getting ready to sell it because Im ready for something newer with lower miles. Still dependable transportation for daily use around town.

chevy got the name wrong - 2000 Chevrolet Lumina
By J BERGLUND - July 17 - 2:00 amthe confusion chevy did by having a van and auto called by the same name was BAD. They shoulda called it the "Monte Carlo 4 Door" because its the 4 dr version of the 2 dr monte carlo without the larger doors . its a great car and gets 30 mpg only trouble we had was electric windows stopped working due to cheaply made parts.and the interiort fan got plug by leaf debris. vehical corners very nice. seats 6 total

Its been great! - 1992 Chevrolet Lumina
By Doug_in_GA - July 16 - 2:00 amBought this car at 60K miles. Now turning 191k, original engine and trans. Ive probably spent 8c a mile lifetime to drive this car, *everything* included (ins, gas, maint, repair, orig cost). Its never left me stranded. Im ready for something new, but will drive this as long as it passes emissions.

prepare to repair - 1999 Chevrolet Lumina
By DAVE ID - July 10 - 2:00 amIf you care at all about reliability this is not the car you want to get. At this time it is 4 and 1/2 years old. I havent even finished paying it off and I will have to junk it because I cant afford the repair bills. I fix this car almost every month For example in the past 6 months, I have spent $1200 to fix various problems. Just got an estimate today for another $1800. But, I wont fix it anymore and will junk it. Problems have been bad brake (too frequently need to be cleaned, resurfaced), intake manifold gasket, head gaskets, calipers, pressure control solenoid. See MSN autos site too. Those problems described were my problems too. STAY AWAY!!!

OneQuickLumina - 1992 Chevrolet Lumina
By LuLu lover - June 11 - 2:00 amMy mom bought the Lumina(nicknamed Hotmama by friends) new in 1992. Its been an excellent car since then. It has broken a few times(4 alternators) and a few sets of brakes but only left me stranded one time in all 12 years. I would definitely suggest a Lumina to anyone. Theyre great cars!

By ethos97503 - May 2 - 2:00 amSimple, reliable ride. No fancy extras, but no irritating lack in features or performance, either. Its a grocery- getter.

1998 Chevrolet Lumina - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
By dale061327 - April 28 - 2:00 amI have driven this vehicle for 77000 of its 103000 miles. Only parts to be replaced over its lifetime are ignition key lock cylinder and the generator. Other than this there have been no problems. The vehicle has just had its mandatory annual state inspection and passed flawlessly. Its a good car. Too bad they stopped manufacturing them!

good car - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By nich617 - April 24 - 2:00 amI have had this car since we bought it in 97. The reliability of this car is great. I have only had a few problems with it and they were expected as the car gets more use. It is comfortable and there is a lot of room for a sedan.

a good car once you replace everything! - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By cmwegeren - April 5 - 2:00 amthe lumina has great pick-up, considering that I live by a busy highway and need excelleration! (good for a v-6). However this only comes after extensive repairs to the new motor, new rotors, new water pump, and 3 new alternator(2)[ I give 1 to the system I later installed at the end after i was finacially able to afford to buy accesories ]
