Overview & Reviews
The supercharged Impala SS joins the lineup for 2004. Besides offering 240 horsepower, the SS features a tightened suspension to allow it to take corners with a bit more gusto. Base and LS models have redesigned bench and bucket seats, and a sport appearance package is now available on the base sedan.
- Six-passenger seating availability, good crash test scores, torquey V6 engines.
- Vague steering, soggy suspension on base and LS models, low-buck interior.

Excellent Vehicle - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By A Pair Of Cops - November 4 - 2:00 amExcellent vehicle, great gas milage. We constantly get 29 to 31 mpg when using the cruise control at 72 mph. The Impala is a fun car to drive with lots of room. It is large on the inside yet it still handles like a sports car. We Love It.

By indy style ss - October 29 - 2:00 amI bought this car about a month ago and thanks to a long trip to Daytona 500 I got to break it in right. lots of power, good road feel, very stable on highway even around big rigs.Just a small amount of road noise not too bad.Good gas milage 25.2 around 75-80 mph! you might get better.Overall very happy with purchase.I like the looks with the optional wheels and havent seen many others. The only thing i did was tent the windows for a sweet ride!

A Great Domestic Automobile - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By polarbear - September 5 - 10:00 amExcellent car! We traded a 2001 Saturn L200 for the Impala and it makes the Saturn seem like it was a piece of junk. The car works well, gets great highway mileage and is so comfortable. Test drove an Accord, Outback, Mazda 6, Saturn Ion, Grand Prix, Vibe, Vue and a Rendezvous and the Impala was not only the best riding car we got a fantastic deal on it. Had the car on a decent sized road trip and got 30mpg+.

My First Brand New Car - 2004 Chevrolet Impala
By SMoothDrRod - June 12 - 10:00 amSo for the first time in my life, I actually went out looking for a car, a brand new car. I wanted decent space, comfortable yet competent handling, etc. and I ultimately ended spend 2 months going through all of the local delearships in my area test driving every car in the "Large Sedan" Class. Ultimately it came down to a 2004 Accord V-6, or the 2004 Impala SS. The accord takes forever to downshift (when I press the gas down, I expect the machine to down shift) and the Transmission of the accord was a little less smooth in comparison to the ultra silky performance of the Impalas transmission. In a word overall this vehicle is amazing.
