Overview & Reviews
The HHR is an all-new compact wagon based on the Cobalt platform. Its retro styling is a throwback to the '49 Suburban.
- Smooth and quiet ride, lots of cargo space, attractive interior, excellent visibility, versatile sound system.
- Weak brakes, sloppy handling, engines lack low-end pull and refinement, tight shoulder room, out-of-reach window buttons, some cheap plastics.

I fell in love! - 2006 Chevrolet HHR
By ladyangel - September 20 - 5:53 amI loved this car the moment that I saw it, in the purple. But due to my disabilities and other circumstances I had to get another one in silver. So far so good with operational peace and comfort.

I dunno - 2006 Chevrolet HHR
By wabbit - September 11 - 3:00 pmI just love my HHR and feel good that I got a lot of bang for my buck! I spent a month deciding between HHR and Vibe (similar crossover vehicles) and option for option I got the HHR with remote start (which Vibe doesnt offer)for $2K less than the Vibe!

Pengwens HHR - 2006 Chevrolet HHR
By Pengwen - September 3 - 7:50 amI love my new HHR. I cant tell you how many "looks" it gets on the road. Mine is red and really catches the eye. Also, have had several people to stop and ask me "What kind of car is this?" I had two PT Crusiers prior to my HHR. The speed regulated steering is great for me as I am disabled and have limited use of my arms and the extra room in the back is great for hauling my mobility scooter. The power seat on the drivers side is what made the sale. I now have more room to get in and out and still able to reach the steering wheel and pedals. I highly recommend the HHR for style and accessibility.

3 weeks - 2006 Chevrolet HHR
By 6111 - August 26 - 1:40 amWhat a great car, mine is an LT1 with the auto 2.4. So far 25 MPG city 32 HWY. This thing simply rides like a large car, smooth and quiet. I took a PT for a test drive and its not in the same class as the HHR. Mine cost $17600 MSRP was $19500, for this price its a super car. Dont pay more than $18500 for an HHR if you do you got ripped off. The 3 dealers I went to in Omaha all dropped the MSRP by at least $1500. Sure I had to order it, but it only took 7 weeks. IMHO the $21000-$24000 HHRs are a huge waste of money.

Great Family SUV - 2006 Chevrolet HHR
By llh - August 21 - 3:56 pmMy LS is Black with XM-radio and Pioneer stereo. Had to get it ordered cause we couldnt find any LS models at dealership. Great family SUV, enough room for our kids and cargo room as well. Great handling as well. Traded our Neon for this HHR and love it.

So far, the best car Ive owned. - 2006 Chevrolet HHR
By Jim M - August 20 - 12:16 amAlthough Ive only had this car for about three months, I have really grown to like it very much. It is a fun car to drive. It handles very well, is comfortable to ride in, has a great sound system, and rides very well, with no rattles or squeaks. I bought this car to tow behind a motorhome, and it is equally well suited for that task as well. I was always a Ford man for years, but when I saw photos of this vehicle when it came out, I just had to have one, and when I took it for a test drive, I was convinced, for sure.

A Great Car from Chevrolet - 2006 Chevrolet HHR
By Sandman - August 18 - 10:00 pmI had a Trailblazer and was concerned about downsizing, especially in the power area. But to my surprise the HHR has all the power I need to move in and out of freeway traffic, climb steep grades and just cruise. This is a fun vehicle to drive, not to mention the looks and questions I get. Excellent gas mileage over 25 in the city and over 30 on the highway. No regrets. If the HHR is upgraded to AWD and turbo, I will be trading again!!

My HHR - 2006 Chevrolet HHR
By Gary C - August 14 - 4:13 amIm well pleased with this vehicle. Fuel economy is great & the ability to use nearly the entire length of the vehicle to haul cargo beats the PT Crusier hands down. Vehicle controls are within easy reach and its a real pleasure to drive. Fit & finish on my vehicle were great. Ample storage throughout.

Oh yeah!! - 2006 Chevrolet HHR
By Doug Hedges - August 10 - 3:26 pmI have had my HHR for about a week now and have put over 500 miles on it. It is great. The ride is smooth and it handles like a charm. The interior is comfortable even for a big guy like me. It has side air bags front and back, which is a great feature.
