This Year's Model Updates:

The HHR is an all-new compact wagon based on the Cobalt platform. Its retro styling is a throwback to the '49 Suburban.

Pros:
  • Smooth and quiet ride, lots of cargo space, attractive interior, excellent visibility, versatile sound system.
Cons:
  • Weak brakes, sloppy handling, engines lack low-end pull and refinement, tight shoulder room, out-of-reach window buttons, some cheap plastics.

I love my HHR. It is fun to drive and the gas mileage is good. There are times that I get 28 to 30 mpg around town. It has cut my cost by 25 percent. The car is tight and very quiet even with the sun roof. The comfort is great. I am a big man, not tall but big and I feel very comfortable in the drivers seat. Every thing is in arms reach and easy accessible.

We love this car! The looks is what attracted us to it in the beginning, but the gas mileage is great considering I drive 80 miles a day. We have only had it for a week, so Im still trying to get use to it (I traded in my 2002 loaded windstar) the kids (2 girls) really like the looks but miss the entertainment system that was in the van. We will add dual monitor DVD players later. I think Chevy has out done them selves this time!

Most of my driving is around very heavy traffic and the HHR is perfect for this. I have had it on the freeway and it is not smooth as a large car, it performed very well. I am surprised at the fast aceleration at all speeds. I have had no new car problems. The motor noise is a little loud, but that is a minor thing. I am very satisfied with the car.

The vehicle is a lot of fun. Love the looks and the questions as to what vehicle it is. It does get confused with the PT Cruiser however, the room inside is spacious, the engine very peppy and the number of accessories is super. Really enjoy the performance of the vehicle. It handles the road very well. Extremely happy with the quality. Everything fits nice and there are no rattles or wind noises. It has an excellent fit to finish feel.

Amazingly comfortable and quiet ride. These are flying off the showroom floor in Houston, they are hard to get. The biggest challenge is finding a dealer who doesnt play games for hours about price and financing. I purchased the LT w/ the 2.4 liter engine and it has some kickin energy for a 4 cylinder. Supply and variety seem to be the biggest issues. Its hard to find a dealership with more than a couple in stock so there is not much choice in features.

For the price this is a nice car. It get a lot of looks as I pass by. I was quite impressed with the power that is has for a 4 cyclinder vehicle. I am a thick woman and I can easily get in and out of the vehicle. The one program I have so far is at drive through windows, and trying to find a sun deflector for the inside (the folding kind) I have checked some of everywhwere, can you help me please, because the window is so small it is very hard. It steers very easy.

I had 3 Blazers previous to this purchase and I was pleasantly suprised by this car. I researched this auto online and didnt even drive one before I called my dealer and ordered a black one. I picked it up and it has been love ever since. I just hope they continue making this model because I do want another one in a few years.

I have owned my HHR for two weeks now. It rides great, drives easy, is comfortable. I am getting great gas mileage in town (22mpg). The ride is quiet, good stereo. The storage and cargo space is nice. Chevy really hit a good one here, and its nice to see them going back to some old school stuff. This should work out well for them. This vehicle is hard to get right now, the dealership I bought mine at, cant keep them in stock.

Ive had lots of cars and I think this may be my favorite one so far. I got the bright orange metallic and I love it! Interior design, outside appearance, drivability, acceleration. So much fun.

We tried out the Rave 4 & the PT cruiser. All things considered the HHR has them both beat. Dont pay any attention to the "Pros" reviews, the HHR is not supposed to be a Porsche. Drive one, the thing feels super tight. I love the way the steering feels.
