This Year's Model Updates:

The HHR is an all-new compact wagon based on the Cobalt platform. Its retro styling is a throwback to the '49 Suburban.

Pros:
  • Smooth and quiet ride, lots of cargo space, attractive interior, excellent visibility, versatile sound system.
Cons:
  • Weak brakes, sloppy handling, engines lack low-end pull and refinement, tight shoulder room, out-of-reach window buttons, some cheap plastics.

  • HHR rocks! - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

The first time I saw the HHR, I knew I had to have one. I was looking at the PT Cruiser, but the HHR stole my heart. I could not wait to get to the nearest dealer. When I test drove it, I cant describe how amazed I was with the ease in handling, the visibility, and the smoothness of the ride. When I found out it was available in purple (amethyst), I was sold. Everyone says this car fits my personality. The HHR is full of life, energy, and personality, just like me. I love my HHR. The car with personality!

It has a good smooth, quiet ride with very little road noise compared to others I had driven. I have gotten as high as 33 miles per gal. on the highway. I would recommend this car to any new car buyers. It is a very classy car.

  • This car HATES gas!! - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

I bought this to drive around my 4 HUGE dogs, which took the place of my gas guzzling SUV. I have had this car over a year with no problems. This car hates gas so much, the closer the needle gets to E, the need will jump back up, lol. I am getting close to 30mpg highway, which is awesome. VERY comfortable leather seats, and an easy driving & comfortable car.

  • Excellent auto - except for leaking - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

I have enjoyed driving the 2006 HR for the last three years. My only problem is leaking after heavy rains on the floor on the drivers side. Are there other people experiencing this problem?

  • We were one of the first. - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

When I saw my first HHR I thought it was some sort of prototype. Chevrolet certainly was not advertising them or I would have seen it sooner! Love the authentic retro look and with the 2.2 H.O. It scoots just fine. I can hardly wait till GM has a few years to get the engine upgrades right. I will take mine in white with a Turbo!

  • Great Ride - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

I love my HHR and I am glad I bought it. I usually go for performance vehicles.Other then the lack of horsepower, it is a great ride. Someday I can picture myself making a Hot Rod out of it.

  • I love this car - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

When I purchased this vehicle, I had an Avalanche Z71. Gas had just topped $3.19 per gallon and the truck was absorbing most of my disposable income. When I saw the HHR, I didnt know what to think. The price was reasonable. The truck was comfortable. The milage was supurb. Im a large person over six feet tall and 280. This car had pep and blew my mind when I first took it for a road trip. I had a full load of cargo and two people. This car hit passing gear at 85mph and left everything behind. The ride is smooth and quiet. I dont know what the critics may say, but in the last year, I have seen this car explode on the market. Lets have a lot of fun!

  • Great Fun, Great Price - 2006 Chevrolet HHR
    By -

What a fun, economical car. I have the automatic with 2.4L engine. Plenty of power with plenty of space. Im a large guy (I shop at the Big @ Tall) and I am very comfortable. I also comfortably haul my 2 teens around. Flexibility for cargo is also great. Fuel economy after 2000 miles is better than advertised on the window sticker.

  • Towable - 2006 Chevrolet HHR
    By -

Its towable and moderate weight for towing. The towbar fits nicely with no body modification, just fasten the bolts onto the frame. With the seats down, it can convert to a cargo carrier. Dont have very many miles, as yet, but what I have, Im impressed!
