This Year's Model Updates:

The HHR is an all-new compact wagon based on the Cobalt platform. Its retro styling is a throwback to the '49 Suburban.

Pros:
  • Smooth and quiet ride, lots of cargo space, attractive interior, excellent visibility, versatile sound system.
Cons:
  • Weak brakes, sloppy handling, engines lack low-end pull and refinement, tight shoulder room, out-of-reach window buttons, some cheap plastics.

  • The Best Yet - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

The best auto I have purchased in years. I purchase a new auto about every 4 years. This auto is rated 25/30 miles per gallon. I am averageing 28.5 miles locally. Have gone on 3 long trips and have averaged 31.5, and latest was 33.1. This auto has so many nice features. It is an eye catcher, have had loads of people asking what it is, what a great feeling to know you have somehing that other people like. The best yet in autos for me. The 7.2 rating is far from what I think of this auto. Get out and drive it, it is fun to drive. Thank You Chevrolet.

I bought this car to replace my everyday driver. The wife liked it so much she quit driving her van, which was over twice the money, and started driving it. I dont like driving a van everyday so I traded it in on another HHR with more options, which she has now taken over and I am back to my original one. I have owned some very expensive cars in my time but I am really impressed with the quality and quanity of the HHR for the price.

  • Best car ever owned - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

Ive owned 30 cars including 6 Hondas and 3 Toyotas. This is the best car Ive ever owned. 31500 miles and zero problems. Fit and finish are tops. Zero rattles, wind noise, leaks, buzzes, hums. 2.4 engine is a must. Pioneer sub woofer makes for great sound system. As a photographer I get tons of equipment with fold down seats that fold down evenly. Plus some great hiding bins. Window switches a little funky and horn is wimpy. Im a fog light freak and these are the best Ive ever had. This car was $5000 under Camry with similar equipment. Ya Id go for a 200 mph rig, but if gas goes over $3.00 a gallon again, maybe not. A fuel cell powered HHR would be totally awesome.

This car is great on gas and is a blast to drive on the the highway. The fit and finish is superb. The stereo sounds great. Interior is nicely done. I use it to go out on the town and to go to Home Depot to pick up all my stuff for around the house and yard. The running boards and the chrome package set it off.

  • FINALLY!!! - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

After experiences with terrible rattles, squeeks and vibrations in various GM Mini-vans over the past 13 years, I was more than ready to try an import. I was looking recently and spotted an HHR at a local lot. I immediately fell in love with the styling and the price and decided to give GM ONE more chance. Im glad I did! What a high quality vehicle! Absolutely norattles, squeeks or vibrations and very little wind noise.

  • HHR a great car - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

We have owned our HHR for almost a year (this replaced our Saturn VUE). Its comfort level and fun to drive rating are high for us. It is black and our freinds refer to it as a hearse. It is anything but a hearse. Neat looking, lots of after market items available to customize. This is a leased car. We may wind up buying because of the style and comfort level. Highly recommend this to anyone. Just plain cool to be in and drive.

  • from Monte Carlo to HHR - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

I recently survived a crash with my 2001 Monte Carlo and a snowplow. Although it was totalled, it gave me the opportunity to buy my HHR 2LT sooner than this summer. What a GREAT CAR! Super roomy for a guy 62". We thought something was wrong with it because people drive really close to us on the highway. They are just getting a better look at its sleek styling! Its sunburst orange metallic II and it glows! The 2.4L has good pickup and keeps up with the big SUVs. Great options that are standard and what a sound system from pioneer! Excellent cargo space for the size and the gas mileage is nearing 26 mpg around town. Cant wait to take a road trip this summer. Its a charm to drive!

Very satisfied with driving and ownership of vehicle. Pleasant to drive with great storage capacity for a small SUV. Would not hesitate to buy another HHR.

  • Great Looking Car - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

I love driving this car. It has a smooth ride and great gas mileage. Highway mileage from 30-35 MPG. The body style is really awesome and Chev. has done a good job here with the styling. I test drove a PT Cruiser after the HHR but bought the HHR, hands down!! Chevrolet has a good reputation of quality built cars. We have always been a Chev. family.
