The HHR is an all-new compact wagon based on the Cobalt platform. Its retro styling is a throwback to the '49 Suburban.

• Smooth and quiet ride, lots of cargo space, attractive interior, excellent visibility, versatile sound system.

• Weak brakes, sloppy handling, engines lack low-end pull and refinement, tight shoulder room, out-of-reach window buttons, some cheap plastics.

  Fun car - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

  This is the smallest car I have ever owned. It does everything my mini van did ,just in a smaller way. I really am enjoying this auto, and will be looking to up grade after a year or so. I highly recomend this car.

  I traded a van for the HHR because of the smaller size and lower access to the rear cargo area. The car runs great and gets good mileage, 23 mpg or so in almost exclusively stop and go driving, and approximately 34 mpg on a 1000 mile vacation trip. The driver info center is handy, showing all the necessary numbers at the push of a button.

  The HHR is a great little car thus far. After looking at the Matrix, Element & Forester, we decided on the HHR. The ride was smoother and the layout was more user friendly. The fuel ecomony in mixed driving is around 27 mpg! I am looking forward to seeing what the MPG will be when the engine is broken in. Chevy finally got something right.

  My Daytona blue HHR turns heads and gets a lot of attention. People love the looks, even though most people mistake it for a PT Cruiser. Interior is roomy and comfortable, even for a 300lb guy like me. The 4 cylinder still has plenty of zip, and the gas mileage is great. I love the car, but my only complaint is- everyone asks-"what does HHR stand for?" Most cars that use initials for a model name,the actual spelled out name is either on the car,or brochure,or,owners manual. Nowhere on my paperwork, owners manual,or anywhere, says what "HHR" means. But,I really love this car, with its retro looks, and modern technology.

  I have greatly enjoyed my HHR. The only problem I have is the radiator is in the wide open for rocks and road debris to get in. Within 500 miles I had to replace the radiator due to a rock puncturing it. All I was doing was driving down the freeway.

  Right after we purchased the HHR we took it on a trip to Ft. Wayne, IN. About a 3500 mile round trip and was so pleased with the performance and comfort of the vehicle that we couldnt believe that it was a compact. We have not had one problem with this HHR as of yet

  Great vehicle in every aspect. Best of all, gas mileage. I went from a V-8 Tahoe getting 17 Hwy, I now get 31 Hwy! Cant go wrong!! Very, very stylish. Almost bought a PT Cruiser before I saw the HHR in a showroom. I snatched the second of only two HHRs on the lot! What a tremendous value for the price! I didnt have to sacrifice looks, performance, gas mileage or quality! Of course its smaller than my Tahoe, but its pretty roomy for what I need. Good luck getting one. I think theyll sell like hotcakes! Hats off to you GM! You made my year in these times of the terrible gas price hike!

  As you can tell, this was just purchased 3 days ago, but the more I drive it, the better I like it. We are dyed in the wool GM fans (my husband has a 1967 Camaro original) but regardless, this is fantastic. We had a 2000 Tahoe which we traded in, it was great also, but this surpasses all I expected of it. Handles great, easy to drive, very comfortable for the size, as my husband is 63", but head room and leg room for him is great. I, on the other hand am 51", so the extremes are quite a challenge for any vehicle. It has much more power than I imagined it would for a 4 cyl. All in all, we love it.

  Great ride & handling with the 2LT sport suspension, plenty of get up & go for a 4 cylinder. Good fuel econemy. No complaints, Like everything about the HHR.
