This Year's Model Updates:

The HHR is an all-new compact wagon based on the Cobalt platform. Its retro styling is a throwback to the '49 Suburban.

Pros:
  • Smooth and quiet ride, lots of cargo space, attractive interior, excellent visibility, versatile sound system.
Cons:
  • Weak brakes, sloppy handling, engines lack low-end pull and refinement, tight shoulder room, out-of-reach window buttons, some cheap plastics.

  • Simply HHR-appy! - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

I bought this car to replace my everyday driver. The wife liked it so much she quit driving her van, which was over twice the money, and started driving it. I dont like driving a van everyday so I traded it in on another HHR with more options, which she has now taken over and I am back to my original one. I have owned some very expensive cars in my time but I am really impressed with the quality and quanity of the HHR for the price.

  • Best car ever owned - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

Ive owned 30 cars including 6 Hondas and 3 Toyotas. This is the best car Ive ever owned. 31500 miles and zero problems. Fit and finish are tops. Zero rattles, wind noise, leaks, buzzes, hums. 2.4 engine is a must. Pioneer sub woofer makes for great sound system. As a photographer I get tons of equipment with fold down seats that fold down evenly. Plus some great hiding bins. Window switches a little funky and horn is wimpy. Im a fog light freak and these are the best Ive ever had. This car was $5000 under Camry with similar equipment. Ya Id go for a 200 mph rig, but if gas goes over $3.00 a gallon again, maybe not. A fuel cell powered HHR would be totally awesome.

  • HHR is a hit - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

This car is great on gas and is a blast to drive on the the highway. The fit and finish is superb. The stereo sounds great. Interior is nicely done. I use it to go out on the town and to go to Home Depot to pick up all my stuff for around the house and yard. The running boards and the chrome package set it off.

  • HHR a great car - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

We have owned our HHR for almost a year (this replaced our Saturn VUE). Its comfort level and fun to drive rating are high for us. It is black and our freinds refer to it as a hearse. It is anything but a hearse. Neat looking, lots of after market items available to customize. This is a leased car. We may wind up buying because of the style and comfort level. Highly recommend this to anyone. Just plain cool to be in and drive.

I love driving my HHR and everyone else who has driven it really likes it also. It has a very smooth ride and I can not wait until winter to see how it will perform

  • from Monte Carlo to HHR - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

I recently survived a crash with my 2001 Monte Carlo and a snowplow. Although it was totalled, it gave me the opportunity to buy my HHR 2LT sooner than this summer. What a GREAT CAR! Super roomy for a guy 62". We thought something was wrong with it because people drive really close to us on the highway. They are just getting a better look at its sleek styling! Its sunburst orange metallic II and it glows! The 2.4L has good pickup and keeps up with the big SUVs. Great options that are standard and what a sound system from pioneer! Excellent cargo space for the size and the gas mileage is nearing 26 mpg around town. Cant wait to take a road trip this summer. Its a charm to drive!

  • Great Looking Car - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

I love driving this car. It has a smooth ride and great gas mileage. Highway mileage from 30-35 MPG. The body style is really awesome and Chev. has done a good job here with the styling. I test drove a PT Cruiser after the HHR but bought the HHR, hands down!! Chevrolet has a good reputation of quality built cars. We have always been a Chev. family.

  • Good American Car - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

Serene ride, comfortable driving position is giving the sensation that you are at the command of a solid vehicle. Well equipped, good sound system and lots of electronics controls, temperature, gas autonomy, oil usage, etc. Good gas mileage for the size of the car. Interior temperature warms up fast, Im from Colorado and this is very important here more now that is winter. I did not find the windows controls far from reach, perhaps confusing as you always find them at your door side in other vehicles. Break wise, I did not find my self in a situation that demands strong breakage so far. Lot of cargo space. Easy acces. Generous rear mirrors.

  • My Baby HHR - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

I purchased my HHR LT in MD. I drove it from Maryland to Florida, then from Florida to Texas. I am 66 years old, and never felt more safe as I was alone on this trip. It handled with such ease and I could "whip" in and out of traffic when necessary. It handled like a dream on my trip. It really held the road with great accuracy and definition. HHR, where have you been all my life? Youre beautiful and I love you.

  • I Love It - 2006 Chevrolet HHR

I was hesitant to get the new HHR, seeing I was coming from a Mustang convertible. The 4 cylinder worried me. The HHR has great pick up and is really peppy, very cool and fun to drive, has XM radio, sunroof, and great sounding pioneer system stock. I love this car, and 360 miles to a tank of gas, cant go wrong. I highly recommend the Chevy HHR
