Overview & Reviews
Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.
Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

Decent - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Josh - December 10 - 2:20 pmAn all around good car. I get horrible gas mileage and I try to drive as conservatively as possible with this car but I still only average 250 to 260 miles to a tank of gas and I have 8,200 miles on it already. There is a wierd clunking feel and noise when I apply my brakes at low speeds. Great sound system though; it is a major step up from my first car. The size is good although it looks like and sometimes feels like you need car seats in the back instead of guitars and equipment like me (it looks like a minivan).

We Love our new hot rod - 2007 Chevrolet Equinox
By Curt Bruce - November 23 - 9:46 amWe traded in a 2001 Cadillac Deville on our Equinox. We love the room you have when you fold down the back seats. Great on trips. the Pioneer sound system is awesome! It is very quick for a six cylinder. Handles great and is fun to drive. We dont regret giving up Caddy because the Equinox is just as comfortable. Last thing, the heated seats are a must for the North Central part of the country, you will not regret it! I would definitly buy another Equinox.

I love my Equinox - 2007 Chevrolet Equinox
By mm - November 22 - 1:06 amThis is my first SUV-AWD. I looked at the Ford Escape, CRV, RAV4 and Torrent. The Equinox was far better both in looks and in value. Way better looking! Pretty and sporty! The Torrent was nice looking too, but what about that name? Anyway Equinox is a great car. Really comfortable and just feels good on my back and neck and overall posture when Im driving. Perfect height to get in & out of - dont have to climb in like a full size 4x4, or drop down into like a car. Had "check engine" light issues when I first got the car. It took three trips to the dealer but they finally got it right - the gas cap was a bad fit so if you have the same issue get that cap checked out right away.

Love my Equinox - 2007 Chevrolet Equinox
By betty barlow - November 19 - 7:14 pmI love my Equinox. Its a nice size SUV, not too small, not too big. I like the way it handles, rides, drives, and looks. Plenty of room for shopping and hauling everything I need. Sporty enough not to look like an old ladies car. I liked the warranty and all the features like the computer readouts on tire pressure, gas milage, so forth. I thought about a Toyota but wanted to go with American made

Maybe I had a Lemon - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Price0909 - November 17 - 10:39 amThe car itself is sporty and the funtionability of the seating and space is great. The quality of material is not good, seat fabric stains when it rains, steering wheel material is ruff, radio back plate or whatever you want to call it is all warn off making the car look very very used. My car broke down since the first 500 miles I pick it up, and still is broken ever since then. Get stuck a lot. One more payment. Cant wait to give it back!

road review - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By tom - November 15 - 6:13 pmjust took a trip from alamogordo nm to abq nm about 440miles round trip. road type included secondary, interstate, and city. Mileage overall was 33.8. the cabin was quite. handling was great and leg room galore. i dont know what more you could ask for the price. the 4 banger reacted strong, stronger than my old 3.4 six. i think gm has a winner here.

2nd Equinox and Happy X2 - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox
By dan - November 13 - 9:18 pmI love my Equinox, 2nd time leasing. Go for the upgrades because its worth it and better quality/feel. I cant get more value in upgrade options for the price, compared to other SUVS in its class. It drives great, very well made and still presents brand new, one year into my lease. Never had any problems with either of my Equinoxes. I may go for the top of the line luxury options, next one I get as I upgrade each time.

Warning....I should Have leased It - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox
By Edward Caldwell - November 6 - 12:33 amThis FWD Equinox had a definite stability problem, swaying left to right at even speeds and level roadway. Driver and front side passenger as well as rear passenger experience " Bobble Head" feeling, not quite car sick but slightly light headed dealer checked all struts and swaybars, allegedly all OK. Steering is terrible giving the feeling of not being in control of vehicle. GM advised no recalls or service bulletins on this problem. Vehicle was traded in at only 4000 miles use for a Chrysler Pacifica and at a loss of approximately $8000.00 Lemon law not applicable because GM denies problem exists, therefore Dealer cannot repair. Friends with the AWD did not experienced any of the above.
