Overview & Reviews
Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.
Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

Lovin The New SUV - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By RogerGayla - December 21 - 7:46 pmWe traded in a 07 Trailblazer on our new 10 Equinox and are loving it. My favorite feature is the MPG, double that of the Trailblazer. For a sub $25k vehicle the Equinox comes with a host of features and is easy on the eyes. Great value in todays over inflated car prices.

Misleading - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Annette Smith - December 19 - 9:10 pmI purchased this vehicle because I needed a car with good gas mileage. I am a teacher and was going back to school for my masters. I went to the dealership where I had bought my other two Chevrolets. They showed me the Equinox, I drove it, and bought it. I did so because the information on the side window said it had a 16.7 gallon gas tank and it got 19 miles in the city and 25 on the highway. After having it 2 weeks I called them and said I didnt think something was right with the gas. They told me to wait and it would get better. It has not! When I talked to them after Christmas they said there was nothing that could be done. They said the stickers can sometimes be misleading!

Equinox Sport - 2008 Chevrolet Equinox
By Equi-Sport - December 19 - 1:27 pmBought the Equinox Sport just over a week ago and like it more and more. We traded an older Acura MDX for something that still had AWD, good power, and better fuel economy. All in all so far, the suspension on the AWD Sport is stiff, yet easily steerable, the motor has plenty of power for the average "Race-ready" father, and lots of interior room. I think the inside could be more refined, but we are used to forein cars. The console and sun visors seems chincy, nice leather, ample leg room, like the gauges, and decent mpg if driven normally. We do 60 miles a day on the highway, and the mpg is averaging 22 right now. This is not a Lexus or Acura, but Chevy has done well and added options.

Best Darn SUV Ever Owned - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Stan Owens - December 17 - 10:00 amHave owned the new Chevy Equinox for almost a week now. Love everything about it. I have been a pickup man for quite a few years. When picking out a new pickup to replace my older one the Equinox caught my eye. I immediately asked to drive it, fell in love with the vehicle from the getgo. Love all the features about it, very roomy for a midsize SUV, comfortable to drive. The new 5-speed automatic transmission works great, very nice shifting. It has very little road noise. The 3.4 V- 6 is more than enough engine for the vehicle. Cant wait to take it on vacation next month. I know it will make the driving comfortable.

Superb Equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Lindsey - December 17 - 4:13 amThis car is awesome. The primary reason for purchase was for handling in the snow. It is the cheapest AWD available. It also has a very nice body style. I got the premium sound system, it is great!

Equinox not what it seems - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Joe of Buffalo - December 12 - 9:26 pmAt first we thought we had a winner, but after driving it for a while we found it not what it was cracked up to be. My son plays hockey. Hes a goalie and there is not room for his equipment. The seats on trips, long and short, feel like benches at a hockey game. The controls are confusing. When we recieved the car, parts of the car in the interior were loose. There were stains all in the car, probably the dealerss fault. We wish we had purchased another vehicle!!

Warning Light Problems - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Nick Reichert - December 10 - 4:36 pmDifferent warning lights are coming on. Had to put the newly designed EGR valve on at 5,000 miles. Warning light for the steering keeps coming on. Right front strut bearing was replaced at 300 miles.Speakers in the two front doors vibrate. The dash board had a bad rattling noise. They put foam in to stop the noise. The air duct on the right side front under dash rattled, again fixed with foam.
