Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

  Love the car BUT - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

  I really love the design and the interior of my Equinox. Cargo space could be bigger. I get OK gas mileage but its a 6 cyl so its not as good as the 4 cyl mileage advertised. Problem with it is the computer system. At first the remote start wouldnt work. At the moment its in the shop for "Air Bag Service" light on, been in shop for 3 days while they hook computer up with GM to find out what the problem is. Ordered a cargo cover which should have been with the car, took two months to get it. Other than minor but time consuming problems I like it. First car Ive ever had though that has been in the shop so much

  Great vehicle for the money. Ours is fully loaded and we love it. Lots of room and good mileage.

  Great Car - 2008 Chevrolet Equinox

  I love this car. My first SUV and I never thought I would ever want one. I got it because many times I would buy something and not be able to get it home in my car. My 80lb dog rides nicely in the back area. Plenty of room for him to stretch. People with long legs can sit comfortably in the back seat. I havent found anything I dont like about this car. Lots of great features included that are usually options on other cars. Would recommend this car!

  This is my second Equinox, and I love it more that the first. The AWD is great for winters here. The gas mileage is good for a car this size, and one considered an SUV/crossover. I still cant believe how much stuff and I can cram into it. Back seats are good for riding with my long legged sons. Only drawback is the blindspots in the back corners and front also.

  Traded a 2006 Equinox LT for 2008 LTZ. Wanted an SUV with GPS. This is the best deal on the market for features and upgrades included. Very comfortable ride. Gas mileage is acceptable.

  Where do I even start. This vehicle has been nothing but a problem ever since I bought it. I just put $2400 dollars into it and last year it was $1000. It is only 3 years old with just over 100 thousand kilometers and I have relapced the front stablizer linkage arms twice, head gasket, brakes 4 times, both front bearings and struts, and hanger bearing. The front still sounds like it is ready to fall apart. Sometimes it doesnt want to start.I really want to get rid of it but I still have 2 years left owing on it and if I trade it I wont get anything for it but if I keep how much more am I going to have to put in to it.

  just getting started - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

  800 miles on the truck and since I pulled out of the dealer had a grind in the front end (left) when turning the wheel. Diagnosed as a bad strut left side. They ordered the set (both) because its new and there are other bad struts. One other order on a different truck that is on back order for weeks now along with mine. I have been waiting since the order was placed the day I bought the truck 6/26. The interior is too light and water stains easy but besides the strut and the entire front defroster venting system needing to be taken apart and tightened by the dealer(which did the job right thank god!) the truck is fantastic. I love it in the dark silver AWD .

  Expectations exceeded - 2008 Chevrolet Equinox

  We researched mid size sports utes extensively. This seemed the best combination of interior room, price, fule economy and towing capacity for our needs. Fuel economy has been a plesant suprise (23 mpg overall, 27+ highway). It tows our 2100 lb boat well. Seats are comfortable and roomy. It rides and handles well. We dont think you can beat it for the price.
